“By your wisdom and understanding you have gained wealth for yourself and amassed gold and silver in your treasuries. By your great skill in trading you have increased wealth, and because of your wealth your heart has grown proud.” (Ezekiel 28:4-5 NIV)

As 2014 ended, U.S. stock market gurus were toasting their success. Then, sporting pockets full of cash, they took to the expensive stores hunting big ticket items. In a January 2nd CNBC article “Steak, strippers & sweet rides: Wall Street’s back”, the writer described the scene in New York’s financial district. He wrote: “It is the good ol’ days of 2007 all over again.” (Hey, wasn’t there a major collapse in the market in September 2008?)

For many, a million dollar bonus from the boss means buying a dream car–or maybe two. The article stated: “A salesman at a high-end car dealership in Manhattan that specializes in selling Bentleys, Rolls Royce and Lamborghinis (that range from $100,000 to $500,000) said that the fourth quarter was his “best quarter ever.”

What goes up must come down! Another analyst took a pessimistic view of the year-end euphoria and made his prediction for the coming year. In The Telegraph on-line, days ago, he posted: 10 Warning signs of a stock market crash in 2015. The similarities between past good times and the present cannot be denied. America is headed for a big, big fall.

A lot of skill is involved in successful trading. Much silver and gold is being amassed by the best traders. According to the prophet, however, the luxuries and the cars are destined to go up in smoke. Today, the wealthiest 1% “live large”, but it will all change in an hour.

“Woe! Woe, O great city, dressed in fine linen, purple and scarlet, and glittering with gold, precious stones and pearls! In one hour such great wealth has been brought to ruin!”          (Revelation 18:16-17a NIV)

Bubble bursting or not, this is not the time to buy expensive cars, jewelry and homes. Instead of ascending to the heights, we ought to humbly associate with the lowly. We ought to busy ourselves in recognizing God’s true prophets, listening to their message and following them. (The Prophets of God book is written for that purpose and is available for purchase on this site.)

Having been made aware of these prophetic times, we will only see with our eyes the punishment of the wicked.
