April 14, 2013

At 8pm tonight, Israel time, the nation lowered their flag to half-staff and sounded the siren for a full minute throughout the Holy Land. It is to signal Yom HaZikaran (Israel Memorial Day). The siren is in remembrance of 23,085 Jewish soldiers who have lost their lives defending the Holy Land since 1948.

“As a mother comforts her child, so will I comfort you; and you will be comforted over Jerusalem.” (Isaiah 66:13)

By remembering all fallen soldiers, Israel also is reminded of how God brought her back as a nation.
“</strong>Who has ever heard of such things? Who has ever seen things like this? CAN A COUNTRY BE BORN IN ONE DAY OR A NATION BE BROUGHT FORTH IN A MOMENT? YET NO SOONER IS ZION IN LABOR THEN SHE GIVES BIRTH TO HER CHILDREN” (Isaiah 66:8)

Within 24 hours of this miraculous rebirth, five of Israel’s Arab neighbors: Egypt, Lebanon, Transjordan, Syria, and Iraq, invaded
the tiny, new Jewish State. The War lasted 15 months and the hand of Yahweh was on the Jewish nation. 6,373 Israeli soldiers died in the war but over the yrs, that number has grown. Yet, Yahweh is still protecting the Apple of His Eye. Muslim nations are committed to wiping out Israel, even though she is a peace loving nation and brought the world THE BIBLE and Jesus THE MESSIAH. The one true God of the universe will never allow that to happen. Yet, Israel’s enemies will never learn, because they are deceived by Satan.

After sundown on April 15, Israel will also celebrate her 65th anniversary as a nation. Our job is to stand by her and pray for her.

“Pray for the Peace of Jerusalem. May those who love you be secure” (Psalm 122:6)

<strong>April 17, 2013
From the Times of Israel, April 17, 2013 Daily Edition.
Israel Police Chief Yohanan Danino and other police officers left Israel late Tuesday evening as they are to meet with FBI and other law enforcement officials in the US, in light of the tragedy in Boston. The times of Israel reports that the delegation of 4 Israeli officials are the highest ranking officials the country has ever sent overseas. Their visit was scheduled before the bombings in Boston but was refocuesed, in light of the bombings.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, in his address to the diplomats, said the following: ” Yesterday, a day of enjoyment in Boston, was turned into a day of terror. We send our condolences to President Obama, the American People and the bereaved families. Israel stands shoulder-to-shoulder with the American People. We are partners in freedom and seeking a better future for all humanity.”
As we remember our fallen and do our part in showing God’s love to all those in need, we must always pray for Israel and the Peace of Jerusalem. Jesus will one day reunite all of us who were scattered among the nations. A tragedy such as Boston is just another example of the terrors that will be coming upon the world. God is preparing us and he is warning us. Do we have the divine wisdom and the spiritual ears to hear, understand and obey?”

May 1, 2013   There is a major push again for Jewish Prayer on the Temple Mount.
Miri Regev of Israel’s Internal Affairs Committee, has announced that she will be visiting the Temple Mount and is considering to allow Jews to pray at the site.  She quoted from Isaiah 56:7 in an effort to highlight her plan.

Unfortunately Regev’s comments met hostility from Arab Media. The Arab Media has misquoted her and Regev then pointed out the difference between Islam (who prevent non-Muslims from praying on the mount) and the Jewish people (who speak of “A house of prayer for all peoples).

May 7, 2013                 Yom Yerushalayim:  A Day to Praise the Lord!

At sunset tonight begins Jerusalem Day.  This day celebrates the 46th anniversary of the liberation of Jerusalem.   On this day, during the Six Day War in 1967, all of Jerusalem came back under Jewish Sovereignty.  The Holy city became divided between Israel and Jordan after Israel proclaimed its independence in 1948, and the Arab nations attacked Israel.  It was during the 1948 War of  Independence that Jordan wrested control of the Old City and East Jerusalem from the Jewish People.  This is where the First and Second Temples once stood.  Under Jordanian rule, the Jewish people were forced to leave and many ancient synagogues were destroyed.

The day prior to the Six Day War was a time of intense Arab hostility, with Syria, Egypt, Jordan, and the Palestinian Liberation Organization (PLO) threatening to completely destroy Israel.  While her enemies amassed their troops, Israel launched a pre-emptive strike and miraculously defeated her enemies in 6 days.  This allowed for Israel’s Capital, Jerusalem to be once again in Jewish hands.  This is the land that God has promised to dwell in and live among His people.

Pray for the peace of Jerusalem:  “May those who love you be secure.”(Psalm 122:6)

June 26, 2013

Last night at sunset began a 3 week period of mourning for the Judean People.  Today is the 17th day of the Hebrew month of Tammuz and  2 tragic events began on this day.  On both 586 BC and 70AD, after a lengthy siege, the walls of Jerusalem were breached by the Babylonians (586 BC) and the Romans (70 AD).   The reason for the period of mourning is that 3 weeks later on the 9th of Av in  586 BC, Solomon’s Temple, was destroyed by the Babylonians (under the rule of King Nebuchadnezzar) and the 2nd Temple was destroyed by the Romans in 70 AD. (An event prophesied by Jesus in Matthew 24:1-3).  These events were not coincidence but judgment from God due to idolatry and rebellion.

“And in that day, I will become angry with them and forsake them…Many disasters and calamities will come on them, and in that day they will ask, ‘Have not these disasters come on us because our God is not with us?’  And I will certainly hide my face in that day because of all their wickedness in turning to other Gods.”  (Deuteronomy 31:16-18).

The Jewish people call the three week period, Bein, ha-Metzarim.  (Between the Straits). {Cf: Lamentations 1:3}. The Jewish people will not eat or drink from dawn until dusk today.  Orthodox Jews will not carry out marriages or express other forms of joy (playing musical instruments and reciting songs of praise.)  Despite this being a time of mourning, there is hope of restoration.  That hope will not come with the Third Temple, which the anti-Christ will have a key role in allowing it to be built.  It will come after the 70th week of Daniel ends and Jesus builds the Messianic Temple and ushers in the Millennium.  The Prophet, Zechariah, brought God’s message of hope to His people.

“The Fasts of the 4th, 5th, 7th and 10th months will become joyful and glad occasions and happy festivals for Judah.  Therefore, love truth and peace. ”  (Zechariah 8:19).

JULY 15, 2013                                    EREV TISHA B’AV

Tonight at sundown begins the fast for the 9th of Av. Some rabbis view this day as solemn as Yom Kippur. It was on the 9th of Av that Solomon’s Temple was destroyed in 586 B.C. by the Babylonians. In 70 A.D. the 2nd Temple was destroyed by General Titus and the Roman Empire. From sundown tonight until sundown tomorrow, there will be no eating or drinking (not even water). Observant Jews will refrain from bathing, sexual relations, wearing make-up and leather shoes. Many of the Judean people will gather together to mourn and read the Book of Lamentations in synagogues all across the world. The Book of Lamentations will also be read at the Kotel (Wailing Wall).

God’s Presence filled the temple after Solomon’s Dedication.(2Chronicles 7:1-2). The sacrificial system was performed in the Temple and God’s Presence resided in the Holy of Holies. The Hope for the Jewish people is that the Messiah will come and build the 3rd Temple. If we read and understand what Daniel says in Chapter 9:24-27, then the conclusion that we come to is that the 3rd Temple will be built at the decree of the Anti-Christ and desecrated half-way through the final 7 year period of this age.(Daniel’s 70th week.) In fact, nothing will be done with regards to the desecrated 3rd Temple until the 30th day after Daniel’s 70th Week.(cf: Daniel 12:11-12).

There is a Jewish tradition that the Messiah was born on the 9th of Av and that God himself will build the Eternal Temple on this Day. I will respectfully disagree with this, as I believe that Jesus (the Messiah) was born on the Feast of Tabernacles (15th of Tishri)* and that the Temple will be dedicated to God on the 25th of Kislev (Hanukkah), also known as the Feast of the Dedication. Unfortunately, if any event will happen again on the 9th of Av during Daniel’s 70th Week, I believe it will be the destruction of the 3rd Temple. I see this happening after the midpoint of the 70th Week (Where the Anti-Christ desecrates the Temple and claims to be God) but before the Rapture of God’s People. Then when Jesus reigns during the Millennium, the fast days of the 4th, 5th, 7th and 10th months will be turned into days of rejoicing.(Zechariah 8:19). So through the dark clouds of Tribulation, true believers see the Light of Jesus on the Horizon. This belief will see us through the terrible time that lie ahead.
* By cross-referencing Luke 1:5-38, John 1:14 and 1 Chronicles 24:1-19, I came up with the idea that Jesus was born during the Feast of Tabernacles. God always works his Redemptive events around His Holy Days.

Peace be with You

August 2, 2013                 Be Careful of So Called Experts!

Today on the Military Channel, the topic of Jesus and His Crucifixion was examined. For a believer who does not have a firm foundation in God’s Word, a show like this can be very dangerous. Scientists and doctors showed that medically and physiologically Jesus was tortured and given a crown of thorns before his journey to Golgotha. This is supported by the Bible.

They also said that others helped Jesus carry His Cross. Once again, the Bible states that Simon the Cyrene was forced (by the Roman guards) to carry the cross behind Jesus. (Luke 23:26). So far it seems like most of the discoveries harmonize with scripture. No Problem. Then the bomb is dropped!

According to scientific research, it was determined that Jesus was on the Cross longer than 24 hours, possibly as long as 3 days. My mom was amazed at this and believed it to be true. When we do not take God’s Word as truth, we will believe the lie. Especially when it comes from scholarly men and women intent on proving that the Crucifixion was real.
We must remember that without faith, it is impossible to please God. I will quickly refute what the Military Channel said. WE MUST BELIEVE THE WORD BEFORE WE BELIEVE HUMAN DISCOVERY. LET GOD BE TRUE AND EVERY MAN A LIAR.(Romans 3:4a).

So what do the Gospels say about the length of Jesus’ crucifixion?( Read Luke 23). Mark 15:25 says that Jesus was crucified at 9am. All four Gospels identify the Day as the day of the Preparation for the Sabbath. Darkness fell on the land around noon and after 3pm, Jesus breathed his last words. Both Luke and John stress that Jesus’s body was taken down before sunset.

At sunset, the Jewish people of the land celebrated the Passover and they were not able to do any work. The body had to be taken down and placed in a burial before the Solemnity of Passover began. The day after Passover was the regular Sabbath. So to say that Jesus was on the cross for several days, not only ignores what the Gospels say but it shows a lack of understanding of what the Feast Days of Israel meant to God’s people.

Then again, we know from Daniel 7:25 that Satan will attempt through anti-Christ to change sacred seasons and the law. By implying that Jesus was not crucified on the Day of Preparation, these scientist become useful fools in the hands of Satan.

Please, always go to God’s Word to draw your final conclusions. God’s plan of salvation history will always revolve around the Feast Days of Israel.

Your Brother in Christ

August 18, 2013                                       Elul

Elul is the 6th month of the Hebrew religious calendar and the 12th month of the Civil Calendar. This year, Elul began at sundown on Tuesday, August 6th. The Gregorian equivalent to Elul is August-September. There are 29 days in this month. The name of the month was brought back from the Babylonian Exile and has originated from the Akkadian word for “Harvest.”
For the Jewish people, this month is a time for repentance in preparation for the High Holy Days of Rosh Hashanah (Feast of Trumpets) and Yom Kippur (Day of Atonement). The word “Elul” is similar to the root of the verb “search” in Aramaic. According to the Talmud, (the central text of mainstream Judaism) the Hebrew word “Elul” can be expanded as an acronym for “Ani L’dodi V’dodi Li- “I am my beloved’s and my beloved is mine.” (Song of Solomon 6:3). Elul is seen as a time to search one’s heart and draw close to God in preparation for the coming Day of Judgment (Rosh Hashanah) and the Day of Atonement. (Yom Kippur).
For the United States, in recent years, there have been major events during this month. The September 11, 2001 attacks happened on 25 Elul and the US stock market crashes of 2001 and 2008 both occurred on 29 Elul. God works in patterns and these events were warnings for the US to repent and turn back to God. I believe we will see another negative event in the month of Elul in 2015 as a final warning for this country. Then judgment will commence. After that, the 70th week of Daniel will not be far behind. So our job is to reach out and make as many disciples as we can. People must be prepared for the DARK DAYS ahead.

Trust in the light of Christ and the Fact that He will establish His Kingdom on Earth.

August 31, 2013                  Thinking Out Loud

The Spanish-American, known popularly as George Santayana (1863-1952), was a philosopher, essayist, poet, and novelist. He is widely known for articulating The Law of Repetitive Consequences. In essence this law states: “Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it.”

As a tribute to the 150th year of the Madrid-born Santayana, let’s examine briefly the Spanish Flee, the “Armada Invincible” (literally “Great or Most Fortunate Navy” or “Invincible Fleet”) and look at its 525 year-old lessons. The Spanish Ruler, King Philip II, had a long-standing personal feud, with his relative, by marriage, Queen Elizabeth I, of England. It came to a head when Philip sent his 130 ship armada (“the invincible fleet”) with the intention of overthrowing the Protestant queen and permanently establishing Spain’s power in the Low Countries or the Spanish Netherlands.

However, in August of 1588, Spain’s plan of conquest was not going well. They were beaten back in a series of harassment-type attacks by the English fleet and forced to return to Spain. On the way back, God intervened in the affairs of men. The Armada sailed into a great storm at sea, off the western coast of the northern part of Ireland. God inflicted heavy losses on the Armada.
“The Great and Most Fortunate Navy” would never recover. Fifty of Spain’s ships that set sail with glorious intent, never returned home.

The British House of Commons may be paying attention to history. They denied their prime minister, David Cameron, the support he requested to help launch a strike against Syria’s leadership. As U.S. ships steam toward the eastern Mediterranean Sea armed with military muscle and might, except for France’s “war machine” that has known two centuries of defeat, they are sailing without allies. As our commander-in-chief, Barrack Obama sits poised to push the attack button without congressional or popular support at home, his attitude evokes images of the 16th century Philip II of Spain.

Back in America, many are still outraged by Miley Cyrus’ MTV award performance, the justice department’s refusal to contest recently passed marijuana laws in Colorado and Washington, same-sex unions making their way through state legislatures, etc. Could it be that the history lesson offered by Pharaoh’s commanders, in Exodus 14:25 will be repeated? It was in their efforts to destroy the Israelites that things started to go badly. The Egyptian army sounded the retreat before Israel because they knew that the Lord was fighting for His People. Pharaoh’s powerful forces were engulfed by the Red Sea. God’s Glory was revealed and the Israelites beheld this great power and feared Yahweh and believed in Him and His servant Moses. DO NOT BE SURPRISED IF WE SEE OUR GOD INTERVENING AGAIN.

September 1, 2013              I Disagree with Pope Francis

Today, Pope Francis condemned the use of chemical weapons and he called for a negotiated settlement to the civil war in Syria. In addition, he announced that he would lead a worldwide day of prayer and fasting on September 7th. The pope urged all sides in the civil war to put down their arms and “listen to the voice of their conscience and with courage take up the way of negotiations.”
Pope Francis invited Catholics, other Christians, those of other faiths and non-believers who are “men of good will” to join him on the evening of September 7th, at St. Peter’s Square. The purpose is to invoke the gift of peace for Syria, the Middle East and wherever there is conflict in this world. The pope was also quoted as saying “War brings on war and violence brings on violence.”
The sentiments of Pope Francis seem genuine and his thoughts about war are true but there will never be true peace until Jesus returns. What the pope failed to differentiate between is the peace that Jesus will bring and the peace that the world offers. The KJV says in Daniel 8:25: “he (anti-Christ) shall magnify himself in his heart, and by peace destroy many; he shall also stand against the Prince of Princes.” So one can speak about peace but have a heart against Jesus.

The Bible shows many examples of evil individuals who offered “peace”. The spirit of Folly, which is in the adulterous woman, brings peace offerings, but her way leads to death. (Proverbs 7:14-27) The anti-Christ will confirm a covenant (of peace) with many but then will break it. (Daniel 9:24-27). Please read 2 Kings 9. The wicked King of Israel, Joram sent messengers to meet with Jehu and they asked Jehu the simple question: “Is it peace?” Jehu’s response was: “What have you to do with peace?” He then told the messenger to fall in behind him. After a second messenger was sent and did not return, Joram (along with Ahaziah, king of Judah), met Jehu at the property of Naboth. Joram once again asked Jehu if he was coming in peace. Jehu’s reply was telling: “What peace can there be, so, long as the many whoredoms and sorceries of your mother Jezebel continue?” Joram was killed at the hands of Jehu and Ahaziah at the command of Jehu, fulfilling the promise which God spoke to the prophet Elisha. God said that He would wipe out the line of Ahab. (The wicked ruler of Israel whose wife was Jezebel.)
So I ask you: “What peace is there in this age as the spirit of the Harlot (Rev 17:1-18) is upon us”? Can we really pray side by side those who worship false idols or reject God’s existence? This cannot be tolerated. Our job is to boldly declare God’s Word and with the Love of Jesus, seek those who are lost. Pope Francis should have declared a day of prayer to Yahweh in the name of Jesus. I know he was not trying to offend anyone but those who are not right with God or do not have a heart for Jesus will not be praying for the Peace that surpasses all understanding. If we live by Philippians 4:8, then the peace of God will be with us all. Proverbs tells us when our ways please the Lord, even our enemies will be at peace with us. (Proverbs 16:7). So, I believe that before we pray for peace, we should be asking for God’s forgiveness and pray that we are doing His Will in our lives. Peace will then follow.

Please continue to pray for the Peace of Jerusalem with a pure and humble heart. We must always remember to seek forgiveness and take the beam out of our own eye.
*The quotes from Pope Francis were taken from an Associated Press article.

September 2, 2013              Is this what it Looks Like?

You may have heard it or perhaps you’ve said it yourself: “I can’t stand watching the news on TV. I’d rather do something I enjoy. The news is so depressing.”

Personally, I cannot remember when I last watched an edition of the network news, but I’m thinking that I ought to start. The world has moved to the precipice and is threatening to jump. We need witnesses.

T.S. Eliot seemed positive about what the end looked like when he composed his poem Ash Wednesday. The concluding line was “…. this is the way the world ends, not with a bang but a whimper.”

Maybe our notes will be useful to a future historian. Readers curious about how such a noble nation turned rotten will find there were loud bangs to get our attention. We also had explosions and a multitude of whimpers.

In the 18th century, Edward Gibbon gathered first person accounts from the 4th and 5th centuries. Through these witnesses, he created his six-volume The History of the Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire. Similarities abound between Rome then and the United States now, but that is not my point. We are witnesses of the end, not just of America’s decline and fall but of this age’s as well. We must document what we see and save it for posterity on hard copy.

There is not one hole in the ship of state, but many. However, let us focus on one. The poor souls who follow the entertainment world’s madness ought to chronicle this generation of female celebrities. It had been a slow descent into the cesspool, until we arrived at the post-2001 era. We’ve had Madonna, Janet, Brittany, and Lady Gaga creating successive outrages while riches, fame and millions of fans urged them on. Molly (Cyrus) is only the latest and most outrageous. Here’s hoping that she will be the last. Unfolding before our eyes is our culture’s fast slide into the abyss. The precipice is very near.

Writing about social trends for future historians is dirty work, but someone must do it- or how will others know? This is what the end looks like. If you don’t believe me, study the Bible’s prophets or read another book that will help our objectivity. I modestly recommend The Prophets of God by this writer. It might just be the antidote for your depression.

God Bless You

September 14, 2013.                Yom Kippur
5pm EST

In the eastern part of the United States, we are winding down the most solemn of the Holy Days of Israel, YOM KIPPUR (Day of Atonement). While today was a Sabbath rest and a time of prayer and reflection, at sundown Jewish families will be having a festive meal. This meal is in Thanksgiving to Yahweh because He forgave the sins of the people for another year. Synagogues throughout the world have read the entire book of Jonah today. So God’s grace and mercy is the central theme to Yom Kippur. Many who celebrate tonight will then begin to work on building their temporary shelters (Sukkots) in preparation for the Feast of Tabernacles which begins 5 days from today.

Yom Kippur should be very important to a Bible believer who studies prophecy. This is the Day that concludes the 70th week of Daniel. How do we know? Scripture tells us. Yom Kippur is the day that the sins of the nation of Israel are atoned for. In Temple times, this was the day when the High Priest (Cohen HaGodol) could enter the Holy of Holies and make atonement for Israel. The High Priest had to bathe in water then put on white linen clothing (which represented purity and humility) before entering God’s Presence. After confessing his sins and those of his family the high priest would confess the sins of the nation. One goat would be sacrificed to Yahweh and the 2nd goat, was chosen as the Azazel or scapegoat. This Hebrew noun means dismissal or entire removal. So the high priest would lay both hands on the head of the scapegoat, confessing the sins of the children of Israel. Then the Azazel would be led into the desert, thus removing the sins from the people. For a Christian, Jesus is our Azazel and when he returns, the Children of Israel will realize this and mourn. (Cf: Zechariah 12:10-11/Revelation 1:7)

Daniel 9:24 gives us great insight.

Seventy ‘sevens’ (1 week is a period of 7 prophetic years) are decreed for your people and your Holy City to finish (restrain) transgression, to put an end to sin, to atone for wickedness, to bring in everlasting righteousness, to seal up vision and prophecy and to anoint the most Holy Place (or most Holy One).”

The only day that atones for wickedness and forgives sin (for one year) and seals the people with God’s righteousness (also for the coming year) is Yom Kippur. The above verse in Daniel shows us that the ultimate fulfillment of the 70th week is Yom Kippur. It will not only end this age, but it ushers in a New Age, the Millennium (which begins 75 days later. See Daniel 12:11-12). Jesus will become the atoning sacrifice for all of Israel and this day of fasting will become a day of rejoicing in the future. By understanding this, we will have the ability to calculate when antichrist will confirm a covenant with Israel. We will also be able to calculate the mid-point of the 70th week (which is the Abomination that causes Desolation). God wants us to know this because he showed it to the Prophet Daniel and Jesus told his disciples about it in the Olivet Discourse.

In an upcoming blog, I will show you how we can get an approximate date for the beginning of the final 7 years and when the anti-christ will desecrate the Temple. These are great guides for God’s people. We can know the enemies’ plans before they come to fruition. My hope is that more people desire to learn and be prepared for the ominous days that loom over the horizon.

May Yahweh bless you with His grace, peace and love.

September 18. 2013                  Sukkot

Tonight at sundown begins the celebration of Sukkot(Feasts of Tabernacles/Booths), which will complete the Fall Cycle of Feasts. During the times of the Temple, it was one of 3 pilgrimages (called Shelosh Regalim) in which the Israelites were to go to Jerusalem and worship as a nation. Sukkot is also known as the Festival of the Nations and the prophet Zechariah tells of a time (the Millennium) when every nation will be REQUIRED to make the journey to Jerusalem and keep this Holy Day.(Zechariah 14:16-17). This day celebrates God dwelling among his people and it is a celebration of when God brought Israel out of Egypt and dwelt with His people in temporary shelters for 40 years. It is a remembrance of God Providing for His People in the Sinai Desert before entering the Promised Land. (Leviticus 23:33-43).
At Sukkot, we should remember God’s kindness and mercy in leading and guiding Israel by day with a pillar of cloud and protecting them by night with a pillar of fire, and providing them with daily manna. In the Millennium, Jesus will be present, ruling over all. He will continue to be our Bread of Life. Another of the names of Sukkot is Z’man Simchateinu (The Season of Our Joy). Leviticus 23:40 with reference to this feast says:
“On the first day you shall take the fruit of majestic trees, branches of palm trees, boughs of leafy tress and willows of the brook; and you shall rejoice before the Lord your God for 7 days.”
Deuteronomy 16:13-15 teaches all (sons, daughter, slaves, Levites, strangers, orphans and widows) to be joyful during this feast and we learn from Exodus that this Day is also known as the Feast of the Ingathering and it is a time of celebration for gathering in the Fall Harvest. (Exodus: 23:16).

John 1:14: “The Word was made flesh and dwelt/lived(Tabernacled) among us and we have seen His glory, the glory as of a father’s only son, full of grace and truth.” This is important because Jesus was born in a temporary shelter (manger) and the announcement of his birth was a time of Joy. The glory of Yahweh was also revealed in the Heavens on this glorious evening.

In that region there were shepherds living in the fields, keeping watch over their flock by night. Then an angel of the Lord stood before them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid, for see–I am bringing you good news of great joy for all the people: To you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is the Messiah, the Lord. This will be a sign to you, you will find a child wrapped in bands of cloth and lying in a manger.” And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host, praising God and saying: “Glory to God in the highest heaven and on earth peace (Shalom peace) to those on whom he favors!” (Luke 2:8-14)

To me it is clear that the birth of Jesus occurred during the Feast of Tabernacles as a testament to the celebration of God Dwelling among His People. In the last blog, I showed how The Day of Atonement perfectly ends the 70th week of Daniel. Tabernacles will then be celebrated 5 days later. There will be need for temporary shelters because of the damage around Jerusalem but it will also be a time of rejoicing for Jesus will have just defeated the anti-Christ and His people will be traveling from the nations to join their King. It will be celebrated within the 75 day interim between the end of the 70th Week of Daniel and the Millennium. I also believe it will be one of the events we will remember in the Millennium when we celebrate Tabernacles. Jesus sheltered His people during the Day of the Lord’s Judgment and delivered us out of the 2nd Age.
So for the Jewish nation, the Christian Nation and everyone who will come to Jesus in the future, Tabernacles (Sukkot) is a joyous day filled with hope. Yahweh is JUST, MERCIFUL, FORGIVING and LOVING. HE IS AND WILL ALWAYS BE OUR DELIVERER.

May this time be filled with joy and love for the Lord and Others.

The peace of Jesus Christ be with you all.

December 5, 2013 The Importance of Hanukkah

Tonight at sundown, marks the end of the 8 day celebration of Hanukkah, also known as The Feast of The Dedication and The Festival of Lights. It is not only an important Holiday for the Judean people, but for Christians as well. Jesus observed the festival as documented in John 10:22-23. Historically, The Feast of The Dedication was established when Judas Maccabees and his brothers defeated Antiochus Epiphanes IV and rededicated the Jewish Temple that was desecrated on 25 Kislev in 167 B.C. The entire sanctuary was purified by Priests on 25 Kislev , 164 B.C. All pagan worship sites in Jerusalem were torn down and throughout Judea the Law of God was proclaimed again. The miracle that happened (according to Jewish tradition) was that there was only enough oil to light the Menorah for one day, yet the Menorah remained lit for 8 days (thus the name: Festival of Lights). The first 2 books of the Maccabees gives us the historical perspective. Judas also proclaimed the length of this celebration equal to the 8 day celebration of Sukkot.
For a Christian, Jesus is the light of the world. (John 8:12). Our bodies are also the TEMPLE OF THE HOLY SPIRIT.(1 Corinthians 6:19-20). So while we should always glorify God with our bodies, Hanukkah is a perfect time for us to consecrate ourselves to Yahweh again. In the next post, I will show how important the Feast of Dedication is from a prophetic standpoint.

May the Light of Jesus shine in you always.

December 12, 2013            Hanukkah in Prophecy
7:30 pm EST

Hanukkah is a very special Feast Day, not only for the Judean people but it has great significance for a Christian as well. (See last post). Most importantly, Hanukkah is going to have an ultimate fulfillment at the beginning of the Millennium. Previously, I have written how The Day of Atonement will be fulfilled on the final day of Daniel’s 70th week. (CF Daniel 9:24-27) This is a key point to understand. Daniel 12:11-12 tells us that from the time the daily sacrifice is abolished there are 1290 days and blessed are those that reach the 1335th day. Daniel 9:27 tells us that this end to the sacrifice will be in the middle of Daniel’s 70th week (Day 1260). So by harmonizing the above scriptures, we see that the desecrated temple and the altar of sacrifice will not be touched until 30 days after the 70th week. Day 1335 is a day of blessing for those who overcome and reach it. It suggests a new era. This era is the Millennium or the 1000 year rule of Jesus on Earth.
Hanukkah is the first day of the Millennium. How do we know? The Hebrew calendar gives us the biggest clue. Hanukkah (the Feast of the Dedication of the Temple of God) is on the 75th day after Yom Kippur. This perfectly correlates with Day 1335, 75 days after the 70th week of Daniel. It also makes perfect sense for this day to be the day when the purification and sanctification of the Temple is completed. Jesus will claim the throne, dedicate the Temple to our Heavenly Father and usher in the Shekinah Glory of God. The light of Christ will fill the Temple and the Millennium will begin with an eight day celebration, resembling a great wedding feast. So each year that Hanukkah comes, the People of God should reflect and understand the significance this great celebration will have in the near future. It will be the ultimate fulfillment of what Judas Maccabees and his brothers accomplished around 164 B.C.

May the Prince of Peace Reign in your hearts.

Foolish America

April 1, 2015 “The fool has said in his heart, ‘There is no God’. They are corrupt. They have done abominable works. There is none who does good.” (Psalm 14:1, NKJV).

While many in America will light-heartedly acknowledge April Fool’s Day, we are at a crossroads in our country. We have moved further away from God. The United States’ relationship with Israel is arguably at its lowest point ever. Yet, we still strive to do what is right in our own eyes. Wake Up, America! Judgment is coming and we need to repent and turn to Jesus.

The Godless (workers of iniquity) have no knowledge and do not call on the Lord. Scripture warns that these people (like America today) are in great fear because God is with the generation of the righteous.(Psalm 14:4-5). This week should be our wake up call, as many people remember the last events of Jesus’ mortal life. For those who never made a commitment to God, please consider this. All have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. (Romans 3:23). Jesus became our sacrificial lamb and died on the cross so that whomsoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.(John 3:16)

This is the message that needs to get out into our neighborhoods, our work place and institutions. When Jesus rose from the dead, He conquered death for all believers. The body of Christ needs to strongly advance against the evils of this age. Satan is increasing his efforts because his time is short. We must take the Word of God and attack Satan’s throne. If we do not, the so called believer will be the biggest fool of all. EJ

August 21, 20015.               The Cycle of the Shemitah (The Release)

Every 7 years there is a jubilee cycle, where God releases the nation of Israel from personal debt if they are following His ways. For a nation whose God is the LORD and who is disobedient, Yahweh will shake up that country’s economy. For the United States, we had  major stock market crashes on September 17th, 2001 and September 29, 2008. Each was worse than the previous one. The common factor was that they occurred on the same day of the Hebrew Calendar, Elul 29. That is the last day of the civil calendar and at sunset of September 17th, 2001 and September 29th, 2008, The Feast of Trumpets was ushered in. That is a Day of Judgment from God on a particular nation.

The Lord was warning us to turn from our evil ways and repent as a nation. Have we? Well, with the Supreme Court decision to legalize gay marriages and with President Obama’s stance on the Iran nuclear treaty (which puts Israel in greater danger) we have blatantly spit in God’s face. Judgment is imminent. So when does the next 7 year cycle end? It is September 13th, 2015. However, that is a Sunday, so if God wants to wake up America in the financial realm, it could either be done on Friday, September 11th (14 year anniversary of 9/11) or on Monday, September 14th, which is the Feast of Trumpets. The Trump Call was to call the people of God for a Sacred Assembly, warn them of coming judgment or prepare for war.

While God does not have to act during this Jubilee Cycle, in light of our disobedience, I would suggest that He will. Today Wall Street had a shake up as the Dow plunged over 500 points. The reason was due to uncertainty over the Global Market and because of the recent economic struggles of China. China has bought a lot of our debt and their economy will effect ours. The date of this points drop is a clue as well. August 21st is only 3 weeks (3 sets of 7) away from 9/11. This is not a coincidence, because The Lord is orchestrating events that line up with Biblical numbers which represent perfection (3) and completion (7). GOD always works in the fullness of time. So we must be like the sons of Issachar who had understanding of the times to know what Israel ought to do. (1 Chronicles 12:32 NKJV). Christians, wake up and stand in the gap for we are nearing the end of this age!

May the grace and love of the Lord protect and keep you.

November 25th, 2015                 Thanksgiving

Tomorrow, the United States will be celebrating Thanksgiving. It is a time for travel, being with family and enjoying great food and company. Many will watch football games throughout the day, while others will use the extended weekend to take out Christmas decorations or go shopping for gifts. It is a wonderful and hectic time of year. Unfortunately, many Americans forget the true meaning of Thanksgiving.

The Sovereign Lord gave us this great nation to be a beacon of light and liberty. Our light is flickering and many are self-absorbed with their own lives and difficult circumstances. No matter what our current situation is, every American should be on bended knee, thanking Jesus for what He did for us. He owed us nothing, but gave us everything. The king rescued us from the pit.

The prophet Jonah is a great example for us to study. God called him to prophesy to the great city of Nineveh. This city was in the heart of the Assyrian Empire (Assyria took the northern kingdom of Israel into captivity in 722BC by using extreme violence). Jonah, knowing that these people may very well repent, refused God’s commands and tried to flee by boat to the city of Tarshish.

Jonah may have had family or friends butchered by this evil nation, so his trepidation would be understandable. However, when God gives us a command, we better listen and obey. Jonah’s consequence for disobedience was to be swallowed by a great fish and remain there for 3 days and 3 nights (Jonah 1:17).

While facing the abyss, Jonah cried out to Yahweh. His words are something we should remember.

” But I will sacrifice to You with the voice of thanksgiving: I will pay what I have vowed. Salvation is of the LORD” ( Jonah 2:9 NKJV).

Jesus uses Jonah as a sign for the adulterous generation that he encountered.

” For as Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of the great fish, so will the Son of Man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth” (Matthew 12:40, NKJV).

Tomorrow when we enjoy the comforts provided to us, we must never forget the ultimate sacrifice that God made. His Son descended into the depths of Hell and rose again as atonement for sin. He bought our freedom through His Blood. Our job is to accept that gift and live in holiness and obedience. EJ.

December 2, 2015                     Hailstones (Part 1)

In the special year in review 2015 edition of Voice of the Martyrs, there is a very revealing article: “Great Evil, Great Revival” (pgs. 4-5).  Despite the turmoil and death in Syria, our LORD is moving in a very powerful way. Amidst the war and destruction, many are coming to a saving relationship in JESUS.

As rockets and mortar fall on the city of Damascus, God is protecting His children. On Friday, June 5th, terroristic threats were issued warning that approximately 30,000 Muslims would attack the ancient city. After 1pm prayer (Salat), thousands left the mosque, shouting as they advanced. Suddenly, the sunny skies darkened and rain poured from the sky and giant hailstones were unleashed against the blood-thirsty crowd.

It was reported that this was the the first time a storm of this ferocity occurred in many years. After 15 minutes of God’s fury, the streets were emptied and the enemy fled. The secular media even took pictures of the hail and reported on the evening news that ” God fought with us.” (VOM, Year in Review, 2015, pg. 5).

God has fought for His people using this method before. The Pharaoh of Egypt mocked YAHWEH and THE ALMIGHTY countered by attacking Egypt with 1o plagues. Before the 7th plague, the LORD said that He raised Pharaoh up so that the Name of the Lord of Hosts be known throughout the earth (Exodus 9:16).

The next day, heavy rain and hail poured down. No storm like that ever happened in Egypt previously. Hail fell on every man, beast and herb of the field. God warned the enemy but many did not listen. Those not prepared were subdued by the hail mingled with fire and only the children of Israel, living in the region of Goshen were spared from God’s Hand (Exodus 9:18-26).

Through Scripture, we see hail used as a weapon against evil nations and as protection for God’s people. How close are we to Jesus’ return? Examples like this combined with what the LORD reveals in the Bible is proof that we are nearing the End of the Age. In part 2, we will see how a future example of God’s wrath  (the 7th bowl judgment of Revelation 16) will parallel the events that happened recently in Damascus. EJ

December 6, 2015                      Hailstones (Part 2)

A few months ago, the Lord protected Christians in Damascus from a Muslim attack by using hailstones to disperse the crowd. This attack by Yahweh is well known in the Old Testament. Not only did the Almighty afflict Pharaoh’s land with hailstones (7th plague of Egypt), He also routed the Amorites and their 5 kings as they fled from the Israelite Army.

In the 10th chapter of Joshua, we learn that  the children of Israel, slaughtered a great number of Amorites at Gibeon. As the beleaguered forces retreated, God made one final statement and He unleashed large hailstones from heaven to destroy the enemy forces.

“There were more who died from the hailstones than the children of Israel killed with the sword” (Joshua 10:11b, NKJV).

Enemies of Jesus better take notice. History and current events prove that The Father remains true to His prophetic word. During the Day of the Lord’s judgment, hailstones will be a great weapon once again. The 7th bowl judgment will be the final attack on Satan’s kingdom.

” Then the seventh angel poured out his bowl into the air, and a loud voice came out of the temple of heaven, from the throne saying, ‘ It is done!’….And great hail from heaven fell upon men, each hailstone about the weight of a talent. Men blasphemed God because of the plague of the hail, since that plague was exceedingly great.” ( Revelation 16:17. 21, NKJV).

The message is clear! God is fighting for His people today just as He did for ancient Israel. Evildoers will not repent even when they see these extraordinary events. However, the people of God must walk in the fellowship of the Holy Spirit, never compromising the Word of God. We must be obedient and boldly speak the truth as the Day approaches. EJ

December 21, 2015                         Asara B’Tevet

Today, Orthodox Jews observe the 10th of Tevet. It is a day of fasting, mourning and repentance. When a nation is continually disobedient to the LORD, HE will raise up enemies in order to bring His people to repentance.

The last king of Judah, Zedekiah, did evil in the eyes of the LORD. This is especially disturbing in light of the fact that he knew that his nephew, Jehoachin and his royal household were taken captive into Babylon 9 years earlier. Instead of repenting, this foolish king ignored the prophet Jeremiah and rebelled.

The result was a day of solemnity for the Jewish people. It was on the 10th of Tevet, when King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon  gathered his army and encamped against the city of Jerusalem. A siege wall was built against it and in less than 2 years, the temple was destroyed. (2nd Kings 25:1-10 and Jeremiah 39:1-3).

“Again, in the ninth year, in the tenth month, on the tenth day of the month, the word of the LORD came to me saying, ‘Son of Man, write down the name of the day, this very day- the king of Babylon started his siege against Jerusalem this very day.’ ” (Ezekiel 24:1-2, NKJV)

Yahweh wanted His people to understand the long term ramifications of sin and disobedience. Nearly three thousand years later, Israel is still mourning. This is a wake up call to the People of God. We must live in the Truth of God’s Word.  God is raising up prophets to warn this country.

The United States needs to learn from Judah’s errors. There is refuge in no one else but JESUS! The path America is on is going to lead her destruction and despair. Some will turn to God in humility and plead for forgiveness. The majority will harden their hearts to the LORD. 2016 may very well signal the death knell of this once great country. While it is still day, we must live in obedience and stand for the Truth of Scripture. EJ

January 3, 2016                           The Narrow Gate

The revelry of New Year’s has passed . As this holiday weekend comes to an end, many will return to work/school. Resolutions for the new year will kick in and people will try to achieve goals: weight loss, job promotions, becoming better parents, finding true love, breaking an addiction, etc. 2016 will bring the hope of a better life.

My hope for many in the United States is a simple message that Jesus gave during His “Sermon on the Mount”.

” Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way the leads to life, and there are few who find it” (Matthew 7:13-14, NKJV).

Luke actually tells us that many will seek to enter through the narrow gate and will not be able (Luke 13:24). These are the same people that Jesus says will cry out “Lord, Lord!” However, they will be cast out because our King never knew them. They did not do the will of The Father. Matthew makes it clear that prophesying or casting out demons in Jesus’ name is not good enough to have eternal life (Matthew 7:21-23).

So what is the way to everlasting life? The Messiah tells us that He is the door that His sheep must go through (John 10:7,9). There is no other way! All four Gospels are clear on this point.

” Jesus said to her (Martha), ‘I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live and whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die. Do you believe this’ ” (John 11:25-26).

This is the same question we must ask others. People must know Jesus personally. The consequences are high if they do not because another will come along and have the appearance of the Messiah. The antichrist will deceive many and only those who know the Master’s voice will stand firm.

My prayer for the new year is that people will repent and commit themselves fully to Jesus. This means to place God first and to really get serious about studying and living out Scripture. EJ.

February 5th, 2016                             The Prophetic Ministry

A few weeks ago, my daughter took a 2 day certification course on how to direct others  during disasters. Many categories were covered: earthquakes, floods, hurricanes, etc. I knew that THE LORD was preparing Ashley for a major role as judgment comes upon the United States. People need leaders to arise during times of tribulation and tragedy. Experts in a specific area are relied upon to guide those in need. As the world plunges into turmoil, Yahweh is raising up his own specialist, the prophet.

The true prophet of today can be found in prisons, in exile, amidst the homeless and among the ill. No title is self-imposed and the message always will harmonize with the Word of God. So do not believe a message of peace and prosperity over a warning of impending judgment and a call to repentance. The Old Testament is our foundation to discern  the deceiver from God’s servant.

‘ that is, the prophets of Israel, who  prophesy concerning Jerusalem, and who see visions of peace for her when there is no peace,’ ” says the LORD GOD. ” Likewise, son of man, set your face against the daughters of your people, who prophesy out of their own heart; prophesy against them,”  (Ezekiel 13:16-17,  NKJV).

A true prophet will have a burden for the lost sheep and will labor in the salt mines with them. Political leaders will declare God’s messenger a troublemaker. The mainstream church will seek the false prophet because his message will be more comforting. In the next post, we will explore what modern day prophecies line up with false doctrine.  EJ.

February 27th, 2016                        False Prophetic Teachings (Part 1)

The interest in eschatology (study of last things) has been increasing in recent years. Unfortunately, there are many false teachings out there concerning the end of the age. Believers must use spiritual discernment when listening to or reading  about current prophetic teachings. The way to identify incorrect doctrine is by seeing if it measures up to the Five Basic Rules of Biblical Interpretation (See Excerpt section under rules for Biblical Interpretation).

” For prophecy never had its origin in the will of man but man spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit” ( 2nd Peter 1:21, NIV).

There  is a basic foundation one must have in order to separate the truth from the lie. Knowledge of Bible history is the bridge which connects the past to the future. God works in patterns and the plan of Salvation revolves around the Lord’s Holy Days. A teacher who does not understand this is destined to fall into error.

The crucifixion, resurrection and outpouring of the Holy Spirit  perfectly  fulfilled the Spring Holy Days of Passover, First Fruits and Pentecost. Naturally, the Fall Holy Days  (Trumpets, Atonement, and Tabernacles) will be completed during the 70th week of Daniel. By understanding this, one can deduce the seasons in which these future events will unfold. In the next post, I will show the connection between the Feast of Trumpets  and the Rapture. This discovery will debunk the myth of an imminent/any moment rapture. EJ

March 3rd                                   Let the Record Show

This website is dedicated to present the Word of God faithfully and to rightfully divide His Word of Truth. Many believers will get angry because we are outspoken against doctrine that many consider “non-essential” (ie: Rapture position). However, teachers cannot afford to get this doctrine wrong.

My questions to pre-tribulation teachers are these: If you are wrong; what happens to the many who trusted you and are now unprepared to handle events that will unfold within the 70th Week of Daniel? Are we weakening the body of Christ when we dogmatically present a view that says Christians today will not live through the Great Tribulation? Will you deny Jesus if your children’s lives are at stake?

As for  myself,  I make this public statement.

” I , Louis George Jacobs Jr. (Elijah) offer up my life for  Jesus. I willingly give my body to the Holy Spirit for the sake of advancing the Gospel  message.”

” So then, those who suffer according to God’s Will should commit themselves to their faithful Creator and continue to do good (1st Peter 4:19, NIV). EJ

March 20, 2016      False Prophetic Teachings Part 2  (The Rapture is NOT Imminent)

This past week on a Christian radio program, I heard the preacher mention that believers could be raptured at “any moment.” This is the pillar of the Pre-Tribulation Rapture position. For a detailed and objective study on this teaching, I ask the reader to purchase the book, ” Lifesaver”. Torpedo #5, The Rapture Isn’t Next, pgs. 51-61 challenges the prophecy student to look at this teaching (Imminency) and to discern if it contains any scriptural support.

This website encourages the believer to understand that past and present Messianic fulfillments fell/will fall on the Holy Days of God. As we observe the death and Resurrection of Jesus over the next week, believers will see that Jesus was crucified on the same day the Passover lambs were slaughtered. He is our spotless lamb, who died for the sins of the world. He was resurrected on the day the high priest  waved the sheaf offering, in order to offer the first fruits of the Spring Harvest. Jesus is the first fruits of the Resurrection (Romans 8:23, 1st Corinthians 15:20). Does the Lord change?

” For I am the Lord, I do not change; therefore you are not consumed, O sons of Jacob” (Malachi 3:6, NKJV).

” Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever” (Hebrews 13:8, NKJV).

” Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of Lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning” (James 1:17, NKJV).

Empowered by this knowledge, it stands to reason that the Eschatological event we call, “ The Rapture” will fall on one of the Fall Feast Days. If this is the case, then there is no possible way the church can be taken up at any moment. In fact, the High Holy Days (Fall Feasts) always are during mid-September through early October. That is the truth a Berean will uncover when he/she digs for the gold of God’s Word. In the next post, we will see how the Rapture parallels The Feast of Trumpets. EJ

March 31, 2016              False Prophetic Teachings Part 3 (The Rapture is NOT Imminent)

The catching away of the elect (The Rapture) is one of the most debated topics within eschatology. The Amplified Bible tells us that God, who is the source of their prophesying, is not the author of confusion (1Corinthians 14:33). Therefore, it is a person’s own flesh that restricts him/her from uncovering complete truth. The Lord works in the fullness of time. (Galatians 4;4). Scripture also proves that Jesus’ death, resurrection and giving of the Holy Spirit completed the Spring Feast Days. Based on this foundation, one should understand that the Rapture will be perfectly  manifested in one of the Fall Holy Days. (Trumpets, Day of Atonement or Tabernacles). The questions remains: Which one?

The season of the Fall Feasts always are observed from mid-September to mid-October. This means that The Rapture will take place in early fall (for those north of the equator). Several important events will transpire on this day.

  1. The Lord descends from Heaven with a cry of command that sounds like the Trump call of Yahweh.
  2. The dead in Christ will rise first.
  3. Those who are alive will be caught up (Greek- harpazo) in the clouds.

There will be a great family reunion in the air (cf 1Thessalonians 4:13-18). Once these facts are gathered, it becomes clear as to which Holy Day is in play.

And the Lord spoke to Moses saying: ” Speak to the people of Israel, saying, in the 7th month (Tishri), in the first day of the month, you shall observe a day of solemn rest, a memorial proclaimed with blasts of trumpets, a holy convocation” (Leviticus 23:23-24, ESV).

Rosh Hashanah (Feast of Trumpets) is a gathering of God’s people by means of the shofar. It is a special day of rest, assembly and time with Yahweh. The Rapture perfectly meets the requirements of Trumpets. Therefore, we can conclude definitively that this glorious appearing of our King cannot be at any moment. EJ

April 10th, 2016        The Rapture Initiates the Day of the Lord (Part 1)

Along with the false teaching that says  The Rapture” could be at any moment, is the idea that this prophetic event is separate from the Day of the Lord. The last post showed that the Feast of Trumpets parallels this gathering of the elect. An understanding of the purpose of the Shofar (trumpet blast) will give us greater insight.

There were three main uses for the sounding of this trump.

  1. The leaders of Israel would call for an assembly of God’s people.
  2. The shofar would serve as a warning for God’s impending judgment.
  3. The blowing of the ram’s horn was used as preparation for war.

Jesus, in the Olivet Discourse, teaches us when this time will be.

” Immediately after the tribulation of those days (Great Tribulation), the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken. Then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in heaven, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. And He will send His angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they will gather together His elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other” ( Matthew 24:9-31, NKJV).

This trump call is the cry of command that Paul is speaking of in 1Thessalonians 4:16. It also is a call to assembly for God’s people. When we compare Scripture with Scripture, we find that Joel prophesies the following:

  1. The heavens tremble, the sun and moon grow dark and the stars diminish because the Day of the Lord is great and very terrible ( Joel 2:10-11).
  2. There is a plea to turn back to the Lord (Joel 2:17).
  3. The trumpet is blown to consecrate a fast and call for a sacred assembly (Joel 2:15).

This is a call to repentance and a warning of Divine Judgment. This prophecy also mirrors events in “The Rapture” and will culminate in God’s war on the kingdom of the antichrist. In the next post, I will show where in the Book of Revelation these events are and how they harmonize with what Jesus taught and the prophesies of Joel. EJ.

April 17th, 2016       The Rapture Initiates the Day of the Lord (Part 2)

Previously, Scripture has shown that the events Jesus spoke of concerning the signs in the sun, moon and stars immediately precede they Day of the Lord’s Judgment. (cf Mathew 24:29-31, Joel 2:28-31.  So where in the Book of Revelation do these events take place? PTR teachers say that  the church is Raptured in chapter 4 of Revelation, when the apostle John is told to come up to Heaven. This particular doctrine continues by stating that the word church is not used in Revelation chapters 4-22.

Here is the problem, if the church is not mentioned from Revelation, 19-22 then how can we assume the she is the bride that is spoken of in chapter 19? If it is discerned that the bride is the church because of other NT scriptures, then we cannot say that the exclusion of the term church means that believers are removed from the earth before the 70th week begins. The bride makes herself ready through wearing fine line, which is the righteous acts of the saints. (Revelation 19:7-8). The great multitude in Revelation 7:13-17 are clothed in white robes because they were washed in the Blood of the Lamb. One of the elders tells John that these individuals have come out of the Great Tribulation. Therefore, we can conclude that these believers are the bride (church) and they have gone through the time of Great Distress.

PTR teachers have shown that believers will rule with Jesus in the Millennium, and many quote Daniel 7:27 as evidence. The promise there is that the sovereignty, power and kingdoms under the whole heaven will be given to the saints, the people of the Most High.”  If this is true, which I believe it is, then Daniel 7:25 must also be true for the saints:

” He will speak against the Most High and oppress His saints and try to change the set times and the laws. The saints will be handed over to him for a time, times, and half  a time” (NIV).

The time period here is three and a half years. This is the period of Great Tribulation that Jesus speaks of that must be cut short in order for anyone to survive. (Matthew 24:22). The  Greek word for cut short means to amputate. So when Jesus returns to rescue His Saints, The Lord will be initiating Divine Judgment on the antichrist thus stopping his persecution.

I watched as He opened the sixth seal. There was a great earthquake. The sun turned black like sackcloth made of goat hair, the whole moon turned blood red, and the stars in the sky fell to earth, as late figs drop from a fig tree when shaken by a strong wind. The sky receded like a scroll, rolling up and every mountain and island was removed from its place. Then the kings of the earth, the princes, the generals, the rich, the mighty, and every slave and every free man hid in caves and among the rocks of the mountains. They called to the mountains and the rocks. “Fall on us and hide us from the face of him who sits on the throne and from the wrath of the Lamb! For the great day of their wrath has come, and who can stand?’ ” (Revelation 6:12-17, NIV).

There can be no denying that this is the same event that Joel says comes before the Day of the Lord. Jesus uses the example of the fig tree(Matthew 24:32-33), just as John does. This gives us a clue to what season we will be in when Jesus returns. The harvest of figs culminates with The Feast of Ingathering (Feast of Tabernacles) which is in late September-early October. So the deliverance of God’s people begins in Revelation 6:9-12 and initiates God’s judgments (Trumpets and Bowls).  God’s plan is fulfilling the Fall Holy Days and are very specific in its timing. In a future installment we will, continue to see the harmony between Joel’s prophesies and the events of the trumpet judgments. EJ

May 2nd, 2016                        Prophecy and Salvation

Over the last few months, I have had the opportunity to preach the message of salvation to my daughter, Ashley (19) and her girlfriend, Alyssa (18). Last week, I followed up with teaching the Roman’s road ( Romans 3:23, 6:23 5:8 and 10:9-10). The message of salvation is not complete without sharing the future judgment that is soon to come upon the United States. I also have shared with them the final 7 year timeline of this Age known as the 70th Week of Daniel.

A few days ago, Ashley told me, that Alyssa placed the ABC card of Salvation in her wallet. She told my daughter the following: “If your dad is right about the final 7 years, I want to keep the card.” This was very important to me because I have realized that people who hear ” The Good News” will take it seriously when credibility is built. That means God’s soldiers need to live a holy and pleasing life. Beyond that, prophecy must me taught on the firm foundation of the 5 Rules of Interpreting Biblical Prophecy.

” Worship God! For the testimony of Jesus is the Spirit of Prophecy” (Revelation 19:11b, NRSV).

When we present God’s word plainly and clearly, without any personal biases, people will listen. Future events will occur the way The Word presents it. So when God’s messengers are obedient in the presentation of the Truth, The Oracles of God will unfold perfectly. A correct understanding and teaching of prophecy will bring many who are on the fence into a saving relationship with Jesus.

May 12, 2016                           Yom Ha’atzmaut

Tonight at sunset begins the 5th day of the month of Iyar and it is a very special day for Israel. On this date (May 14, 1948) Jewish Agency Chairman David Ben-Gurion established an independent Jewish state in the land God promised Abraham. Yom Ha’atzmaut means Day of Independence.  This is very important for the people of God because it is fulfilled prophecy.

” Before she was in labor she gave birth; before her pain came upon her she delivered a son. Who has heard of such a thing? Who has seen such things? Shall a land be born in one day? Shall a nation be delivered in one moment? Yet as soon as Zion was in labor she delivered her children” ( Isaiah 66:7-8 NRSV).

The inhumane suffering of the Holocaust and the devastation of World War II served a divine purpose in God’s Prophetic Timetable. Leaders will rise, ordained by the Lord, to advance the 2nd Coming of Jesus the Messiah. We must have spiritual discernment to recognize the leaders and false teachers that Satan strategically places to deceive many.

When we understand God’s calendar and His Holy Days: the Bible and Prophecy really begin to fall into place. Iyar means rosette/blossom. The country of Israel rose from the ashes in one day and our hope is that the dry bones which are in place will soon adorn flesh. We must continue to pursue Truth and stand against the spiritual forces of darkness which are ransacking this world. EJ

June 6th, 2016                                   Muhammad Ali

Yesterday, in Louisville, Kentucky, a city united to mourn her favorite son. An energetic two hour service took place at King Solomon Missionary Baptist Church, honoring one of the most polarizing sports figures in history: Muhammad Ali. Amidst the heart warming memories and light-hearted stories Yahweh was watching this church. Do you think all the hymn singing, crying and praising really impressed our Lord?

Ali was idolized at this service which is in violation of the greatest Commandment of all (Cf: Exodus 20:4-5). His humanitarian efforts were lauded and many exalted ” The Greatest” as a kind and generous athlete who stood for what he believed in. Jesus is clear as to the only one who is good in this world.

” A certain ruler asked him,  ‘Good teacher, what must I do to inherit eternal life?’ Jesus said to him, ‘Why do you call me good? No one is good but God alone’ ” (Luke 18:18-19, NRSV).

Any label of praise that we place on ourselves is pride and it comes directly from the evil one. The fall of Lucifer happened because his heart revealed wickedness. Satan saw himself as greater than Yahweh. (cf: Isaiah 1:12-14). So while the world mourns and memorializes Ali, they are remembering that this man believed that there is truth in all religions and that fighting for what one believes in his/her own heart is the noblest of all ventures.

Once again, those thoughts do not stand up against the Word of God.

” The heart is devious above all else; it is perverse- who can understand it “(Jeremiah 17:9, NRSV)?

“And the Word became flesh and lived among us, and we have seen his glory, the glory as of a father’s only son, full of grace and truth” (John 1:14, NRSV).

” Who is the liar but the one who denies that Jesus is the Christ? This is the antichrist, the one who denies the Father and the Son” (1st John 2:22).

Ali was a devout Muslim. He grew up Baptist yet he denied Jesus as God. The Bible calls Jesus faithful and true (Revelation 19:11). Should we listen to God or man? If “the greatest” were to return today, he would tell those who are honoring him, to worship God alone. It is too late for him but we still have time to trust in Jesus alone. If so-called Christians today believe that Ali is in Heaven, what will stop them from following the anti-Christ? EJ

June 18th, 2016                The Seals of Revelation

One of the most common misunderstandings of prophecy that I have personally noticed lately, deals with the 7 seals that Jesus will open at the end of this age. God fearing Christians are believing that some of the seals have already been open. This is why proper understanding of Scripture is so important.

In ancient times, the kings seal on a scroll or document indicated ultimate authority which could not be overturned. The Book of Revelation makes it clear that there is only one person who can open the scroll and break the seals.

Then I saw in the right hand of the one seated on the throne a scroll written on the inside and on the back, sealed with seven seals; and I saw a mighty angel proclaiming with a loud voice,  ” Who is worthy to open the scroll and break its seals?”  And no one in heaven or on earth or under the earth was able to open the scroll or to look into it. And I began to weep bitterly because no one was found worthy to open the scroll or to look into it. Then one of the elders said to me, “Do not weep. See, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has conquered, so that He can open the scroll and its seven seals” (Revelation 5:1-5, NRSV).

Jesus is the only one with the authority to open this document. He paid the price for sin with His crucifixion and resurrection and as a result saints from every tribe, language, people and nation one day will be able to share in the Kingdom of God (CF: Revelation 5:9-10). So what is this document and how does it play a role with the end of this age?

The 7 seals are conditions that must be met on the earth before what is written on the scroll is played out. Revelation 5:1 (above) tells us that this edict has writing on both sides. We also know that the apostle John consumed a little scroll (sweet as honey but bitter in the stomach). He had to prophesy about the contents to many peoples, nations, language and kings (Revelation 10:10-11).

The key to deeper understanding of the Scroll is revealed when we compare Scripture with Scripture. The priest and prophet Ezekiel was commanded to eat a scroll and then speak to the house of Israel. It went down sweet as honey but the bitterness was that God’s message would be to a hard-hearted people (the exiles of Israel). A hand  stretched out to the young prophet and what he received was a written scroll on both sides and on it were words of lamentation, morning and woe (CF: Ezekiel 2:1-10). Therefore, we can conclude that is the same message that John is given to say. In the next installment, we will explore the history of Ezekiel’s words and how they impact the future. EJ.

July 23rd, 2016              The History of the Ezekiel Scroll

In the last post, I showed the comparisons between the message from the scrolls that both John, the apostle, and the prophet Ezekiel consumed. The message was the same, a call to repentance and a warning of judgment to the house of Israel (Ezekiel) and to the nations (John). A quick history of the timing of God’s command to Ezekiel, will give us greater insight into how the Lord works within His prophetic time frame.

There were three waves of exile into the land of Babylon: 605 BC (Daniel), 597 BC (Ezekiel and king Jehoiachin), 586 BC (the fall of the temple and the remaining exiles taken; including a blinded king Zedekiah).

” On the 5th of the month-it was the fifth year of the exile of King Jehoiachin- the word of the Lord came to Ezekiel the priest, the son of Buzi, by the Kebar River in the land of the Babylonians. There the hand of the Lord was upon him” (Ezekiel 1:2-3, NIV).

Biblical history allows us to see  when the glory of the Lord appears to Ezekiel (Ez. 1:28). The year was 592 BC. So when the command is given to the priest and prophet to go to the captives of Judah (Ez. 2), it is to convey God’s warning. This captivity was not going to be short. The words that Ezekiel were to convey contained lamentations, mourning and woe (2:9).

God was predicting what was to come upon the city of Jerusalem and to the reigning king, Zedekiah. Jeremiah was prophesying to this rebellious king(Jeremiah 21:1-10, Jeremiah 28). The Lord told Ezekiel to draw the city of Jerusalem on a clay tablet and then to erect siege works and a ramp to it. God was revealing the final attack on the city and Solomon’s Temple. This revelation occurred six years before the fall of the Temple.

The fourth month, Tammuz, is highly significant. God told Ezekiel to prophesy during this month. This is the same month when the walls of Jerusalem were broken through. In a future post, we will learn how this event sets off a three week period of mourning that ended with the destruction of the first temple. EJ

August 21st, 2016                       End Time Harvest

Yesterday morning, I was at a men’s group Bible Study, where Proverbs chapter 10 was explored in great detail. One particular verse jumped out at me.

” He who gathers in summer is a wise son; He who sleeps in harvest is a son who causes shame” (Proverbs 10:5, NKJV).

True believers are God’s sons and daughters and yet many of us are not willing to be workers in the fields where the harvest is plentiful(Matthew, 9:37-38, Luke 10:2, John 4:35-36). In fact, consider the Pre-Tribulation and Mid-Tribulation views that suggest, God’s people are raptured before the time of Great Tribulation. When we compare the above proverb with what Jesus says concerning the end of the age, a clear image arises.

” Now, learn this parable from the fig tree: When its branch has already become tender and puts forth leaves, you know that summer is near. So you also, when you see all these things, know that it is near-at the doors!” (Matthew 24:32-33, NKJV).

The event that Jesus referred to will be the Great Tribulation.  Then, Yahweh will shut off the celestial lights as a sign of His return and the Day of the Lord Judgment. The example of the fig tree is two-fold.

1)The fig harvest happens during Sukkot: The Feast of Tabernacles (end of September early-mid October). This is a clue that identifies the appointed time (Moadim) of Our Lord’s return

2) Jesus uses the example of the harvest which also means that the fields will be ripe for souls to be saved  before the Day of the Lord.

The church is told to pray for harvesters and to be workers. Then why would God take us to a place of safety before the harvest field is sowed? The answer is simple, He will not! The prophet Joel actually says that all who call on the name of the Lord during this period will be saved (Joel 2:32). We should want to be around and to reach the lost. If we are not doing it, who will?

People will argue that the 144,000 Israelites will be the laborers. However, the Book of Revelation is clear that when these men are sealed, the Day of the Lord is about to begin. They have a different role to play in this end of the age drama. We will explore this in the next installment. EJ

October 10th, 2016                       The Days of Awe

Yom Teruah (Feast of Trumpets) through Yom Kippur (Day of Atonement)  is a time of introspection and repentance. Rosh Ha Shana is Yahweh’s Day of Judgment and Yom Kippur is the Day of God’s Mercy.

Bible believing Christians need to understand that these high holy days are fulfilled within the 2nd half of the last 7 years of this age (Daniel’s 70th week). The Lord’s Wrath begins with the opening of the 6th seal (Revelation 6:12-17). This sets up a series of trumpet and bowl judgments in which Jesus judges the beast kingdom and takes away Satan’s rule on earth. The Feast of Trumpets is completely realized in the Rapture.

The Lord said to Moses, ” Say to the Israelites: ‘ On the first day of the 7th month your are to have a day of Sabbath rest, a sacred assembly commemorated with trumpet blasts’ ” ( Leviticus 23:23-24).

” For the Lord himself will come down from Heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever” ( 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17).

God’s pattern has always been to complete His plan of Salvation on the appointed holy days (Mo’ adim/ set times). The Rapture is a sacred assembly of The Almighty’s people who are gathered at Jesus’ command which is commemorated with a Trumpet Call. This catching away cuts short The Great Tribulation (Matthew 24:21-22) and leads to the sealing of the 144,000 Israelites (Revelation 7:1-8, 14:1-5). Thus, Jesus begins the process of reuniting the elect of Israel. In the next post, we will see how Yom Kippur not only completes The 70th Week of Daniel, but also fulfills God’s promise that all Israel will be saved (Romans 11:26). EJ

October 12th, 2016                 Yom Kippur fulfills the 70th Week

” Seventy sevens are decreed for your people and your holy city to finish (restrain) transgression, to put an end to sin, to atone for wickedness, to bring in everlasting righteousness, to seal up vision and prophecy and to anoint the Most Holy Place” (The Most Holy One, Daniel 9:24, NIV).

Today, The Day of Atonement, is the holiest day for the Jewish people. It ends the 10 days known as the Days of Awe. The hope for those fasting and observing this Holy Day is that Yahweh will grant them forgiveness of sin for another year. There is no assurance of salvation. That will not happen for Israel until we reach the end of this age.

We are at a crossroads in the world awaiting the final 7 years. When it concludes, Daniel’s people (Judah in particular/Israel in general) and the city of Jerusalem will be declared holy. This sin of national Israel will be atoned for and everlasting righteousness will be ushered in as Jesus will be ruling on earth.

The pattern of God’s plan of Salvation fulfilling His Holy Days is proven true once again when Judah and Israel reunite and acknowledge Jesus as Lord. He becomes their atoning sacrifice and then Yom Kippur is completed. It is then reasonable to conclude that the Day of Atonement will end this age (End of September/Early October). EJ

November 28th, 2016                   Jesus’ Prayer to the Father

” I am not asking you to take them out of the world, but I ask you to protect them from the evil one… I ask not only on behalf of these, but also on behalf of those who will believe in me through their word ” (John 17:15, 20, NRSV).

Before Jesus died, He made a beautiful prayer to THE FATHER (John 17). Human government will not keep us safe. Jesus gave us the answer, God the Father, will protect us from the evil one. The word translated protect is tereo which means properly maintain, spiritually guard, watch over and keep intact. Verse 20 shows us that this applies to all believers of every age, because it includes those who believe through the word of the apostles. ( Jesus followers wrote the NEW TESTAMENT).

So, we are definitely not safe from avoiding the attacks of Satan. The Holy Trinity strengthens us when we endure persecution. A weapon is given to us:  GOD’S WORD IS TRUTH! (verse 17).  The best way we can defeat the spiritual forces of this world is to take shelter in Yeshua and immerse ourselves in THE WORD (2nd Timothy 2:15, Acts 17:11).

Our job then is to be like the Church in Philadelphia. They kept (tereo) Jesus’ word of patient endurance and He promised to protect them as they endured through the hour of trial/testing. The church must heed these words and hold fast to what THE LORD has given us so we do not lose our rewards (Rev. 3:10-11). The body of Jesus must be ready for intense persecution even to the point of punishment and death. There is THE BLESSED HOPE at the end of this Great Tribulation. EJ

December 5th, 2016            Bethlehem: Birthplace of the Messiah

This is the season where churches throughout the world will retell the birth narratives of Jesus from Matthew and Luke. The purpose of this website is to inform the reader of God’s prophetic timeline. Why should we believe there will be a future, literal return of Jesus to earth? The answer is simple; because every prophecy concerning the birth, death and resurrection of Jesus has been perfectly fulfilled. Therefore, we will take one specific prophecy from the Old Testament and show how it was manifested through the birth of the Messiah.

The prophet Micah held his office through the reign of 3 kings: Jotham, Ahaz and Hezekiah (Micah1:1). Historical records tell us that Micah prophesied in the 8th century B.C. The birth of Jesus has been estimated from anywhere between 4-2 B.C.

” But you, O Bethlehem of Ephrathah, who are one of the little clans of Judah, from you shall come forth for me one who is to rule in Israel, whose origin is from of old, from ancient days” (Micah 5:2, NRSV).

So for over 700 years, this particular oracle of God remained unanswered. Then God in the fullness of time, sent His Son, born of a woman, born under the law, so that we may be redeemed from the law and receive adoption as children (cf: Galations 4;4-5). The Messiah’s birth was at an appointed time (Moadim).

God fulfills many prophecies providentially, which means he uses natural means to bring about His plans. In this case, a pagan ruler (Augustus Caesar), who had no clue of Yahweh’s Word, ordered a decree for a census. Anyone under the authority of the Roman Empire had to  return to his ancestral town in order to be registered. That meant that Joseph (who was from the line of King David) had to take his wife Mary and their unborn son to Behtlehem. (cf: Luke 2:1-3).

” Joseph also went from the town of Nazareth in Galilee to Judea, to the city of David called Bethlehem, because he was descended from the house and family of David. He went to be registered with Mary, to whom he was engaged and who was expecting a child. While they were there, the time came for her to deliver her child. And she gave birth to her firstborn son and wrapped him in bands of cloth, and laid him in a manger, because there was no place for then in the inn” (Luke 2:4-7, NRSV).

As we approach the end of this age, God will be using the leaders of the world, particularly the antichrist and false prophet to usher in the events described in the Book of Revelation. Many events such as the Day of the Lord, has been foretold by the prophets. There is plenty of clues in Scripture that will allow us to know what will happen so we are not caught off-guard. In the next post, we will review the prophecy of Immanuel in Isaiah and show how it relates to a very specific Feast Day of Yahweh. EJ

December 18th, 2016            The Virgin Shall Give Birth

” Therefore the LORD Himself will give you a sign. Look, the young woman (virgin) is with child and shall bear a son, and shall name him Immanuel” (Isaiah 7:14, NRSV).

Around 734 BC, the Lord spoke through the prophet Isaiah because the southern kingdom of Judah was being threatened by a union of two kings from the north. King Rezin of Aram and King Pekah of Israel went up to attack Jerusalem. Evil King Ahaz and his people shook with fear. Yet, God was merciful. The prophecy of the virgin giving birth to a son was a sign of the promise that YAHWEH made. Before the boy knew enough do differentiate right from wrong, the land of these two kings would be deserted. By 722 BC, the northern Kingdom of Israel fell to the Assyrian Empire.

This is an example of the near fulfillment of prophecy. Over 700 years later came another promise of deliverance. A virgin, Mary was engaged to Joseph (from the line of David). She was unmarried but with child and for that culture, the situation was scandalous. The penalty for such promiscuity was death but Joseph being a righteous man sought to nullify the engagement privately. Then, God delivered Mary from disgrace and intervened with another dream.

But just when he had resolved to do this, an angel of the LORD appeared to him in a dream and said, ” Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary as your wife, for the child conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit. She will bear a son, and you are to name Him Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins.” All this took place to fulfill what had been spoken by the LORD, through the prophet:

” Look, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and they shall name Him Emmanuel.” which means, ‘ God is with us’ (Matthew 1:18-23, NRSV).

As we celebrate Jesus’ birth, it is important to remember that God’s prophetic plan to save the world manifested itself into our plane of existence. The WORD was made flesh and dwelt among us (John 1:14).  This was the far fulfillment of Isaiah’s prophecy. The people of God need to learn the lesson of obedience that Mary and Joseph took. Faith and trust came at a price for them. As we approach the last days, it will come at a price for the who hold steadfast to the testimony of Jesus. Yet, there is a great reward at the end. Jesus will return to rule on earth. The Millennial Kingdom will be the epitome of the celebration of the Feast of Tabernacles, which is a time to honor Yahweh dwelling among His people. EJ

December 27th, 2016            The Mystery of Hanukkah

The dedication of the Temple of God, also known as the Festival of Lights, is very unique in its origin. Yahweh did not ordain this holy feast and it is not documented in the Old Testament. So why is Hanukkah important? In 164 BC, the 2nd Temple was purged and purified, rededicated to the Lord. The date was the 25th of Kislev which was the same date the Temple was desecrated 3 years earlier.

An evil ruler, Antiochus Epiphanes IV, placed a pig sacrifice on the altar of God and proclaimed to be the incarnation of the Greek deity, Zeus. A zealous family from the tribe of Levi (the Maccabees) fought for their right to honor the one true God. After 3 years, El Shaddai struck this evil ruler with a painful bowel disorder. A ruler who claimed to have power over the oceans and mountains was left in the muck of the earth infested with worms (2nd Maccabees 9:5-9).

The Sovereign Lord led his people back into Jerusalem to recover the Temple. The desecrated altar was tore down and the sanctuary was cleansed and a new altar was built. The celebration lasted 8 days in honor of the Festival of Booths (Tabernacles). Two months earlier, during the proper time for Sukkot, the Jewish faithful were wandering in mountains and caves. Therefore, Hanukkah not only celebrated the cleansing of the Temple but it honored God’s presence among His people (2nd Maccabees 10:1-9).

The history of Hanukkah is important for a student of prophecy. The future antichrist will desecrate the temple in a very similar way. He will be defeated by Jesus himself and not by human hands. The Sanctuary will be re-consecrated ( Daniel 8:11-14, 9:27) and the kingdoms of the Earth will belong to the Lord again. Satan wanted to prevent the blessing that was promised to the Jewish people. In the next post, we will compare a prophecy from  Haggai with a prophecy from  Daniel in order to find out why. EJ

January 8th, 2017            Asara B’Tevet (The Tenth of Tevet)

” And in the 9th year of his  (king Zedekiah of Judah)reign, in the 10th month, on the 10th day, King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon came with all the army against Jerusalem and laid siege to it; they built siege works against it all around” (2nd Kings 25:1, NRSV).

Today, in Jerusalem and all around the world, the Jewish people are fasting, mourning and praying. They are remembering the day that the city of Jerusalem was attacked by Babylon. God raised up this empire as punishment because His people were rebellious and disobeyed Him. Along with the days of mourning  when the city walls  were breached (4th month) and when the Temple was destroyed (5th month), the Jewish people have a lot to repent and pray about.

This year there is another issue for Israel to mourn over. On December 23rd, 2016, the United Nations Security Council  passed a resolution criticizing the Israeli settlements in the occupied territories, calling them an obstacle to the 2-state solution. They are strongly advising Israel to reverse the expansions of the settlements. Unfortunately, the council was unanimous (14-0) with the United States abstaining.

Why is this important? The timing of the vote is from the pits of Hell itself! Hanukkah began at sunset on December 24th (25th of Chislev). Satan worked through his unwitting puppets in order for this resolution to happen. It is the same reason, Satan desecrated the Temple (see previous post) on what became the first day of Hanukkah. When national Israel repents and turns to Jesus as their Messiah, Satan will be bound for a thousand years. Satan knows prophecy, so every chance he gets, he will try to stop God’s oracles from coming true (CF: Daniel 7:25). Two prophecies will make what I am saying a bit clearer.

“Seventy weeks are decreed for your people and your holy city; to finish the transgression, to put an end to sin, and to atone for iniquity, to bring in everlasting righteousness, to seal both vision and prophet, and to anoint a most holy place (one)” {Daniel 9:24, NRSV}.

” Consider from this day on, from the 24th day of the 9th month. Since the day of the foundation of the Lord’s Temple was laid, consider. is there any seed left in the barn? Do the vine, the fig tree, the pomegranate, and the olive tree still yield nothing? From this day on, I will bless you” (Haggai 2:18-19, NRSV).

Are we really considering this. Satan, with this resolution and the timing of it , was trying to prevent the promise of blessing given to Haggai. It is no coincidence that this event happened hours before the 24th of Chislev began. Satan knows his time is short and he has his army prepared to wipe out Israel and every Bible believing Christian who stands in his way. Now more than ever, we MUST abide in the Word of God so that we may know the truth and the truth will set us free (John 8:31-32). EJ

January 15th, 2017            Divine Appointment

This morning, around 4:30A.M., I woke up and saw that I received a text shortly after midnight. It was a number I did not recognize and it was part of a previous group text. So, I pursued the matter. It turns out that the person who sent this text is a niece to a couple whom I am very close to at church. Over the course of the next 2 and a half hours, we traded several texts.

As more information was provided to me, I realized that this was a divine appointment. This lady (early to mid 40s) has dealt with severe medical issues since 2001 and has been separated from an abusive husband. Her desire was to get her life back and to be delivered from pain. Apparently, years of praying to God did not work. My response was this:

God wants to heal you spiritually and he can heal you physically, but that does not happen all the time. You need to make Jesus the LORD of  your physical ailments and the LORD of your life. This means that you need to forgive others whom you may not have forgiven, you will have to confess your sins and turn away from them (repent), and you need to trust in Jesus as your personal LORD and Savior. He wants you to be a good mother to your children and will provide that for you as long as you ask Him in faith.

I proceeded to write out 2 examples from Scripture of healing. There was a woman stricken with a spirit that had her bent over for 18 years. Jesus called her and set her free and after laying hands on her, she stood erect, immediately  (Luke 13:10-13). Another woman suffered from hemorrhaging for 12 years and by just touching the cloak of Jesus she was healed immediately. Our Lord actually encouraged her by saying that her faith made her well (Matthew 9:20-22).

The apostle Peter calls us a royal priesthood.

But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s own people, in order that you may proclaim the mighty acts of Him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light. Once you were mot a people, but now you are God’s people; once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy (1st Peter 2 2:9-10, NRSV).

Our job is to invest in others and balance love with the Truth of God’s Word. Priests and prophets do not cater to the feelings of another but offer hope through Jesus. I encouraged this woman to trust Jesus, read scripture (offering her to begin with the Gospel of John) and I said that if she does this with a sincere heart, she will see a change in her life. I also told her to not believe me but ask God if what I was saying was true. Her last words to me was that she believed I was meant to talk to her and that she would contact me.

The people of God must be prayerful and have divine wisdom to recognize when the Holy Spirit is leading us to His lost sheep. They are out there and we cannot chose whom we are to minister to or when. God used me at an unusual time and via an antiquated flip phone. The harvest is plentiful but the laborers are few. We must pray for more laborers and jump to the front lines of the harvest fields. EJ

February 9th, 2017            Order Versus Chaos

One fact that I have learned about the Word of God is that when you meditate on Scripture, The Holy Spirit will reveal theological truths even within the daily activities of life. Last week, I stayed over my niece’s father’s house to take care of their dog Morgan. I watch Morgan, one hour a day, Monday through Friday. In the past, I did not let Morgan in Raiyna’s room while I fed the fish because she would always grab a stuffed animal. However, after I made the bed and straightened up the room, I let Morgan in with me and observed. The amount of times she grabbed something from the room was reduced from 100% to 33%.

What I learned was that order affects behavior in a positive way and the more someone’s life is in disorder, they greater that person is prone to sinful/dysfunctional behavior. This is especially true when Jesus is not the LORD of a person’s life. If the Holy Spirit is not leading us, any sin is conceivable. Mankind has over 6,000 years of a sin nature that just waits to jump out.

Throughout Scripture, it is clear that YHWH is a God of order. Consider the meticulous description of the building of the Tabernacle in Exodus or the details of the laws in Leviticus. Revelation 4 and 5 describes Heaven’s throne room and the hierarchy around THE LORD. First, you have the four living creatures and then surrounding them are the 24 elders. Every divine being has a job to do and as long as the task is performed with obedience to the LORD then tranquility is established.

Unfortunately, an anointed guardian cherub, perfect in beauty was expelled from Eden because iniquity was found in his heart. This wonderful creation of God became proud because of his beauty and then his wisdom was corrupted (Ezekiel 28:14-19). Lucifer, son of the morning, in his rebellion said 5 ” I will” statements in his heart. These thoughts made the guardian cherub believe he could overthrow his creator and become God (Isiah 14:12-15). The beginning of disorder begins within the heart.

” When tempted, no one should say, ‘God is tempting me.’ For God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does He tempt anyone but each person is tempted when they are dragged away by their own evil desire and enticed. Then, after desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full grown, gives birth to death” ( James 1:12-15, NIV).

For Satan, his thoughts manifested into a plan where he would attempt to rule Heaven. The dragon convinced a third of the angels to rebel and war broke out. Michael and Heaven’s armies overcame Satan and his rebellious minions. They were cast down from paradise (Revelation 12:7-9). This event will fully manifest itself in the 70th week of Daniel. In a future post, we will see how the antichrist will pose as a messianic figure of order and see the result of that deception. EJ

February 12, 2017             God’s Confirmation

Around 5pm, on Saturday, February 16th, my daughter wanted to share something with me. I was just about ready to head to church, as I was one of the ushers. What Ashley told me was that the previous day, she along with her cousin Alyssa and Alyssa’s boyfriend were at a McDonalds. A young male employee came to their table and spoke with them

He said that this world is ruled by Lucifer and people will have to either choose the world or choose Jesus. He then encouraged them to read the Bible. The more Ashley shared, I realized that God spoke through this young man and the Gospel message was given. So, I told Ashley that the LORD was trying to get her attention by bringing her a 2nd witness. Ashley learned that in God’s eyes 2 witnesses legally confirm a matter.

Then I shared how God’s word is living and active and it pierced through my heart and judged my innermost thoughts (Cf Hebrews 4:12). She has seen how my life has changed for the better and it appears that this divine appointment at McDonalds shook her up. This morning while at prayer at 8pm and meditating on God’s goodness, a word came on my heart: Redemption. It was at a McDonald’s in July of 2005 that the biggest mistake in my life occurred which turned my world upside down. I realized this morning that God did not confirm the message of salvation at a McDonald’s by chance. It is part of his redemptive plan. After prayer and Bible Study, I left a voice message for Ashley confirming that very thought and she thanked me.

God is about saving families and redeeming familial lines. The best example of this is in the book of Esther. Esther and Mordecai, came from the same lineage as king Saul (Esther 2:5-7). There also was an evil man, Haman who wanted to wipe out the Jews living in the Persian Empire. Haman was an Agagite (Esther 3:1). His hatred of the Jewish people was rooted in his DNA because king Agag was an Amalekite who was an enemy to Israel. God ordered king Saul to wipe out the Amalekites and to kill king Agag (1st Samuel 15:1-9). Saul only partially obeyed and he failed to kill this king. This disobedience not only resulted in the crown being removed from the tribe of Benjamin but it also resulted in the manifestation of the seeds of hatred. Haman had over 500 years of poisonous thoughts flowing through his veins. This was a demonic hatred for God’s people. Only Benjamites from Saul’s clan could undo that damage that their forefather created through disobedience.

I prayed for years that Jesus would have mercy on my children because of my mistakes and as I strive to be faithful to my king, He is answering my pleas. So this morning I want to glorify Jesus and thank him for everything that He is doing for me. I love you Yahweh!!! EJ

February 24th, 2017            The Deception of the Beast

And he will make a firm covenant with the many for one week, but in the middle of the week he will put a stop to sacrifice and grain offering; and on the wing of abominations will come one who makes desolate, even until a complete destruction, one that is decreed, is poured out on the one who makes desolate” (Daniel 9:27, NASB).

Throughout Biblical History, we discover that Satan tries to imitate God. He can appear as an angel of light, so we must not be shocked when one of his servants comes onto the scene as the Messiah (2nd Corinthians 11:14-15, Revelation 6:1-2). The antichrist will seem to be a peacemaker and to prove that, he will do something that has not been accomplished for thousands of years. There will be an illusion of peace in the Middle East.

This calm before the storm will be confirmed by a covenant, but when we look into the original language of Hebrew, we find out how diabolical the plan is. The term make a firm covenant (gabar, gaw-bar’) means exceed, confirm, put to more strength. He is strengthening a briyth (ber-eeth’) which is a covenant made by the passing between pieces of flesh.

This is the scheme in which the antichrist is going to convince Israel that he is the Messiah. Yahweh made an unconditional promise to Abram using a heifer, a female goat and a ram (all 3 years old). They were cut in half; then THE LORD spoke to Abram in a vision. Finally, God himself passed through the flesh in the image of a smoking fire pot and a flaming torch. This was God’s promise: that Abram’s descendants will be many and  they will inherit a land of plenty (Genesis 15:7-21).

This anti-messiah will appear to be Israel’s protector and to prove it, he will support the rebuilding of the Jewish Temple and a reinstitution of the sacrificial system. There will be a time of tranquility in the world but it will only be short-lived. By easing tensions between the Arabs and Jewish people, Satan will be behind a unified world system that will eventually worship him. Those who know Jesus intimately will recognize this ploy and will fight to the very end. Our job is to warn others so that we may be prepared for the battle of our lives. EJ

March 10th, 2017                 The Book of Esther:  Introduction

The Jewish Feast of Purim will be observed this Saturday (after sunset) until Sunday evening. It marks a celebration of God’s deliverance of His people who were living within the provinces of the Persian Empire. The purpose of this series is to do an in depth study of Esther in order to understand several points: 1) God’s provisions, 2) Satan’s plan 3) the role of priestly men and women. There are 2 unique facts about the Book of Esther:1)God’s Name is not mentioned in the original Hebrew texts. 2)This book is only one of two that is named after a woman (the other is Ruth).

The book itself is place after Nehemiah in the Bible, however, historically, events in Esther transpire almost 40 years before the chronicles of Nehemiah begin. King Ahasuerus ruled over 127 provinces within the Persian Empire from India to Ethiopia (Esther 1:1). Many of the children of Judah lived within the boundaries of these provinces. Only a remnant of Jewish descent (approximately 50,000) returned from the Babylon captivity. The 2nd Temple in Jerusalem had been rebuilt for nearly 30 years.

The heroes of this book are Mordecai and his cousin Esther (Hadassah) whom Mordecai adopted as his own (Esther 2:7). We also learn that both come from the tribe of Benjamin and most likely from the same bloodlines as king Saul (cf: Esther 2:5-6). Their ancestor Kish (same name/different man from Saul’s father) was in the 2nd wave of captivity into Babylon (along with king Jeconiah and the priest/prophet Ezekiel) in 597 BC. As we plunge into the details of the book, we will learn the patience of God and that He choose people to fulfill His plans. In the next installment, we will see how the disobedience of King Saul (some 550 years earlier) manifested into a plot to wipe out a majority of the Jewish nation. EJ

April 1st, 2017                 The Book of Esther: Background of Evil

Haman was highly favored within the realm of the Medes/Persians. King Ahasueus (Xerxes) promoted him and his seat was higher than other government officials (Esther 3:1). The Benjamite Mordecai refused to bow before Haman, which infuriated him. Upon learning the nationality of Mordecai’s people, Haman devised a plan to eliminate the Jewish population living within the realm of King Xerxes (Esther 3:3-6).

Haman’s hatred had been festering for over a millennia. He was a descendant of the Amalekite king, Agag.  Biblical history shows us that Amalek was a grandson to Esau (Genesis 36:1-12). From the womb Esau and Jacob would be at odds with each other.

Isaac prayed to the LORD for his wife, because she was barren; and the LORD granted his prayer, and his wife Rebekah conceived. The children struggled within her; and she said, ” If it is to be this way, why do I live?” So she went to inquire of the LORD. And the LORD said to her,  “Two nations are in your womb, and two peoples born of you shall be divided: the one shall be stronger than the other, the elder shall serve the younger.” When her time to give birth was at hand, there were twins in her womb. The first came out red, all his body like a hairy mantle; so they named him Esau. Afterward his brother came out, with his hand gripping Esau’s heel; so he was named Jacob. Isaac was sixty years old when she bore them (Genesis 25:23-27, NRSV).

Haman was only acting according to his nature, as a son of Esau and a child of Satan. God knew of this animosity and ordered the first Israelite king, Saul, to utterly destroy the Amalekites and everything they owned (1st Samuel 15:2-3).  Saul, was not obedient to God and he spared the life of king Agag as well as the best of the sheep and cattle. This act of rebellion not only cost king Saul his kingdom but allowed the hatred of the Amalekites to grow. Haman would be allowed to devise a plot to eliminate his enemies. In the next post, we will see how God continued to counteract Satan’s plan. EJ

April 14, 2017           The Esther/Passover Connection

Upon first reading this title, you may think that I am crazy. Some may say: “Louie, you are reading into the Scripture something that is not there.” However, when we follow the rules of Biblical Interpretation and understand who Satan is, then unlikely connections will be made. Satan throughout history has tried to change the set times and laws of GOD (cf: Daniel 7:25). Many churches remembered the crucifixion and death of Jesus today.

In reality, Jesus was killed on the day the Passover lambs were slaughtered (13th of Nisan/Luke 23:54) which according to the Hebrew calendar would have fallen on Monday, April 10th this year. Satan’s plan was to move in evil men so that Jesus would suffer excruciating pain on a physical, emotional and spiritual level. The evil one’s hope was that Jesus would sin by not accepting the full cup of suffering that the Father ordained. Jesus’ death on the 13th of Nisan was the first part of God’s deliverance of mankind.

The Passover season came into play in the Book of Esther as well. It was in the month of Nisan that the evil Haman was given permission to set up a date where the enemies of Israel could wipe them out on a single day. The plan was the same then as it was during Jesus’ time: stop the Messiah from completing His mission. The day chosen to destroy Israel was the 13th of Adar (12th month of the religious calendar). The written decree to destroy God’s people were given on the same day that Jesus was crucified!

Then on the thirteenth day of the first month, the royal secretaries were summoned. They wrote out in the script of each province and in the language of each people all Haman’s orders to the king’s satraps, the governors of the various provinces and the nobles of the various peoples. There were written in the name of King Xerxes himself and sealed with his own ring. Dispatches were sent by couriers to all the king’s provinces with the order to destroy, kill and annihilate all the Jews-young and old, women and little children- on a single day, the thirteenth day of the twelfth month, the month of Adar, and to plunder their goods. A copy of the text of the edict was to be issued as law in every province and to be made known to the people of every nationality so they would be ready for that day (Esther 3:12-14, NIV).

As Jesus was dying on the cross, his “crime” was written above Him and it was in 3 different languages: Aramaic, Latin, and Greek. It read: Jesus of Nazareth, The King of the Jews (John 19:19-20).  In fact Jesus also made a decree of death on this day concerning His people.

Jesus turned to them and said to them, “Daughters of Jerusalem, do not weep for me, weep for yourselves and for your children. For the time will come when you will say, ‘Blessed are the barren woman, the wombs that never bore and the breasts that never nursed!’ Then they will say to the mountains, ‘Fall on us!’ and to the hills: Cover us!” (Luke 23:28-30, NIV).

The bad news was that death had to come and the 13th of Nisan was a harbinger of destruction. Yet God, through Esther and Jesus, would deliver HIs people. This is a critical concept to understand in these last days. When the temple was destroyed in 70 AD, Jesus’ prophecy was partially fulfilled and these events will happen again during the 70th week of Daniel (Matthew 24:15-22, Revelation 6:12-17). Those who are faithful and endure to the end, obediently following God’s WORD will be delivered (through martyrdom or divine rescue). WE MUST BE ALERT AND PREPARED!! EJ

May 3rd, 2017                           A Testimony Part One

I have learned a lot from writing on this site and from reading the articles and books from Pastor John. His latest book that is in the process of being published is truly amazing. It answered questions I had about the Millennium (the 1000 year reign of Jesus on earth). I believe that God has blessed me to understand His prophetic word in a way that few do and with Pastor John, I found a comrade who has been my teacher, friend and motivator. It was my privilege to read drafts of The Priests of God and share Biblical insights.

We take the Bible literally and with that, sometimes there are apparent loose ends that are not answered. What I have learned is that if there is something in the Bible that doesn’t connect, it is not because Scripture is wrong, it is because I have not dug deeply  enough.

The LORD has sworn and will not change His mind, ” You are a priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek” (Psalm 110:4, NRSV).

The noun order as defined by Merriam Webster can mean the following

  1. A group of people united in a formal way.
  2. Any of the several grades of the Christian Ministry.
  3. The office of a person in the Christian Ministry.
  4. A rank, class or special group in a community or society.
  5. A class of persons or things grouped according to quality, value or natural characteristics.

Therefore, we can conclude that the order of Melchizedek is more than two people. I used to think it was Melchizedek and Jesus and that’s it. Upon further study I realized that throughout the OT, God had many men who were of this order. They had zeal for the LORD and patient endurance to overcome great suffering. When one studies the various men who offered up sacrifices to God and were approved by the LORD (Job, Moses, David, Solomon, Daniel, etc) a conclusion is formed.  None of these individuals are from the high priestly line of Aaron. So logic demands another priestly order is in play. In the next post, we will look at a covenant that God made to one of His priestly servants. EJ

May 13th, 2017                 A Testimony Part Two

The further I delved into the priestly order of Melchizedek, the more I learned the type of person that God required to serve as a mediator for His people. He wanted men and women of integrity and passion. One who loves God’s Laws over the seductive ways of the world. A leader who was willing to stand against the evil of this present age. Now we will look at a man who fulfilled all these qualities. He was a grandson of Aaron and a Levitical high priest; Phinehas.

Satan corrupted a prophet, Balaam and enticed him to lead the children of Israel astray. Sexual immorality is one of the more alluring forms of sin that will separate people from their LORD. During Israel’s journey through the wilderness, Moabite women lured many of the Hebrew men into sexually immorality. This carnal pleasure enticed the Hebrew men to offer sacrifices to the god of Moab. The false god Baal of Peor took precedence over Yahweh. As a result, GOD intervened.

The LORD said to Moses, “Take all the chiefs of the people, and impale them in the sun before the LORD, in order that the fierce anger of the LORD may turn away from Israel.” And Moses said to the judges of Israel, “Each of you shall kill any of your people who have yoked themselves to the Baal of Peor” (Numbers 24:4-5, NRSV).

The true priest takes God’s Word to heart and follows instructions to a tee. An Israelite from the tribe of Simeon took a Midianite princess and had relations with her in front of Moses and the congregation of Israel. This raised the ire of Phinehas and he took a spear and pierced the two sinners through the belly. One man’s sacrifice satisfied the justice of Yahovah.

“Phinehas son of Eleazar, son of Aaron the priest, has turned back my wrath from the Israelites by manifesting such zeal among them on my behalf that in my jealousy I did not consume the Israelites. Therefore say, “I Hereby grant him my covenant of peace. It shall be for him and for his descendants after him a covenant of perpetual priesthood, because he was zealous for his God, and made atonement for the Israelites’ ” (Numbers 24: 11-13, NRSV).

The first rule of Biblical Interpretation is that whenever possible, we must take Scripture in its most natural and literal sense. Therefore, when God says that Phinehas will have a perpetual and everlasting priesthood, He meant it.  The Hebrew word, olam,  means everlasting, forever, ongoing, permanent and ancient. This is interesting since Jesus is called the Ancient of Days, and he is the beginning and the end.  Therefore, we can conclude that the covenant that God gives Phinehas and ultimately the sons of Zadok (Ezekiel 44), will continue throughout the Millennium. In a future post, we will compare the zeal of Phinehas with the zeal of Jesus. A connection into the true priesthood of Aaron’s grandson will become apparent. EJ

June 3rd, 2017                        Shavuot (Pentecost)

Tomorrow, Christian churches will be celebrating Pentecost. Also known as the Feast of Weeks, this Holy Day, is the spring harvest of crops. The season when the  children of Israel went to Jerusalem to offer up the first fruits of their harvest. On the Jewish Calendar, Pentecost is celebrated on 6 Sivan, which actually was May 30th-31st this year.

For the Jewish worshipper, Shavuot is a remembrance of God descending upon His people and the giving of The Law (Exodus, chapters 19 and 20).

” Now Mount Sinai was wrapped in smoke, because the LORD had descended upon it in fire; the smoke went up like the smoke of a kiln, while the whole mountain shook violently. As the blast of the trumpet grew louder and louder, Moses would speak and God would answer him in thunder” ( Exodus 19:19-20, NRSV).

Unfortunately, no one can perfectly keep the law for all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23). Pentecost found its fulfillment in Acts chapter 2 when the Holy Spirit came upon some 3,000 people. The Ruach haKodesh ( the Comforter of YHWH) filled many as divided tongues as of fire appeared among the Apostles and a tongue rested on each of them (Acts 2:3).

The Apostle Peter then quoted from the prophet (Joel 2:28-32) and what happened next was a partial and near fulfillment of OT prophecy.

Now when they heard this, they were cut to the heart and said to Peter and to the other Apostles, “brothers, what should we do?” Peter said to them, ” Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the Name of Jesus Christ so that your sins may be forgiven; and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. For the promise is for you, and your children, and for all who are far away, everyone whom the LORD our GOD calls to Him” ( Acts 2:37-39, NRSV).

The result was a gathering of souls given to the Father as the first fruits of a future and greater harvest. Peter was a priest in the order of Melchizedek, speaking boldly and proclaiming the light of truth.  During the 70th week of Daniel, the prophecy of Joel will be spoken again by other priests of this same order. These men and women will boldly prophesy about the final outpouring of the Holy Spirit on all flesh. This grand event will be the “far fulfillment” of Joel’s prophecy.  EJ

July 11th, 2017                        Tzom Tammuz

For the Jewish people, a time of fasting and reflection has begun. It begins today with the 17th of Tammuz and ends in 3 weeks with the 9th of Av. This time span is called: Between the Straits. 2nd Kings 25 explains the events that lead up to this time of mourning.

Zedekiah rebelled against the king of Babylon. And in the ninth year of his reign, in the tenth month, on the tenth day of the month, King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon came with all his army against Jerusalem, and laid siege to it; they built siege works against it all around. So the city was besieged until the 11th year of King Zedekiah. On the 9th day of the 4th month (Tammuz) the famine became so severe in the city that there was no food for the people of the land. Then a breach was made in the city wall; the king (Zedekiah) with all the soldiers fled by night by way of the gate between the two walls, by the king’s garden. They went in the direction of the Arabah. But the army of the Chaldeans were all around the city, and overtook him in the plains of Jericho; all his (Zedekiah’s) army was scattered, deserting him. Then they captured the king and brought him up to the king of Babylon at Riblah., who passed sentence on him. They slaughtered the sons of Zedekiah before his eyes, then put out the eyes of Zedekiah; they bound him in fetters and took him to Babylon (2nd Kings 25:1-7, NRSV).

Judgment had to be pronounced on Judah because of the sins of past kings. However, Zedekiah’s end did not have to be so severe. The prophet Jeremiah urged the people of Judah who were in captivity to turn to YWHW, pray for Babylon and raise families there. God would surely bless them if they trusted in their LORD. However, king Zedekiah, chose to listen to a false prophet Hananiah, who prophesied that within 2 years the children of the captivity as well as king Jeconiah would return to the land along with all of the articles of the temple. (cf; Jeremiah 28 and 29). Disaster fell upon those who listened to the false teachings that peace would come before tribulation had reached its fullness.

Today, we listen to similar rhetoric. ” The church does not have to go through any trials and tribulations of Daniel’s 70th week. We will be in Heaven while the antichrist tortures the tribulation saints and Israel.”  That is not what the prophets, Jesus or the apostle Paul taught.

He (antichrist) shall speak words against the Most High, shall wear out the holy ones of the Most High (saints/ the church) and shall attempt to change the sacred seasons and the law; and they shall be given into his power for a time, two times, and half a time (Daniel 7:24, NRSV).

The charlatan, Hananiah, died 2 months after he spouted his lies, dying on the 7th month of the Hebrew calendar. Tishri (7th month) holds the Fall Holy days and it is a time for judgment. A similar fate will befall those today who twist prophecy to fit personal doctrine. Their fate will be sealed. In the next post, we will see what happened to the Temple of Jerusalem at the culmination of this tragic 3 week period. EJ.

October 16th, 2017                 The 9th of Av

“The LORD, the GOD of their ancestors sent persistently to them by his messengers, because He had compassion on his people and on His  dwelling place;  but they kept mocking the messengers of GOD, despising His words, and scoffing at His prophets, until the wrath of the LORD, against His people became so great that there was no remedy.  Therefore, He brought up against them the king of the Chaldeans (Nebuchadnezzar) who killed their youths with the sword in the house of their sanctuary, and had no compassion on young man your young woman, the aged or the feeble; he gave them all into his hand”  ( 2nd Chronicles 36:15-17, NRSV).

God’s judgment is swift when the fullness of evil has reached its peak. This evil reveals the wicked hearts of man and it must be dealt with ( cf: Ecclesiastes 8:11-13). On the 9th of Av 9 (August) in 586 B.C., the Babylonians burned the house of GOD, broke down the wall of Jerusalem and burned all the palaces with fire, and destroyed all its precious vessels. The remainder of the nobleman in Judah were taken captive (3 waves of exile) until the rise of the Persian Empire in 539B.C. (Cf: 2nd Chronicles 5:19-20).

Yahweh fulfilled the prophecy that He spoke through the prophet Jeremiah that the land lay desolate to fulfill its Sabbath rest (Jeremiah 25:11, 29:10). The first exile occurred in 605 B.C. (Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah), the 2nd in 597 B.C. (King Jeconiah and the prophet Ezekiel were among the exiles). For seventy years, the temple remained in ruins which meant no sacrificial system. Judah was receiving the compensation due to her unfaithfulness. This day is especially somber for Israel as history would repeat itself. In the next post, we will see that Jesus spoke of a 2nd destruction of the Temple and its ramifications still haunt devout Jewish followers to this day. EJ

February 5th, 2018         Eagles Win Super Bowl! Journey, Parallel to Christian Walk

The 2017/18 NFL season kicked off with the draft held in Philadelphia. Most reporters nationwide were amazed with how well the city presented the 3 day spectacle. The maligned fans were passionate yet respectful in behavior as there were surprising few arrests. As the season unfolded, one could sense, the Eagles were something special. They were predicted to win 9 games at the most. Too many things had to go right if they even had a chance at the playoffs.

Yet, even as they won games, trial after trial fell upon the Eagles. They lost their place kicker on opening day replaced by a 140 pound practice squad rookie.  Then what followed was a domino of disaster: losing their best offensive weapon,  their pro bowl left tackle, their best linebacker and defensive playmaker, their best special teams player and the MVP caliber and franchise quarterback. Amidst this, their head coach was ridiculed and mocked.

Adversity can make or break people and a team . The Eagles supported one another, ex players united with the team and gave advice and stood in the gap with them. As a unit, they never lost faith in one another and they bonded together as one.  Many from their head coach, to their quarterbacks, are devout believers.  As one, the team embraced their underdog role and withstood the disdain from the national media. No team as a number 1 seed ever entered the playoffs as underdogs in 3 playoff games, including 2 at home.

When we look at some Scriptures, we see that this is the path GOD’S people must journey. We need one another and Jesus taught us to not be surprised when the world hates us because it hated HIM. Here are some Scriptures that the Eagles embodied this year.

After they (Paul and Barnabas) had proclaimed the good news to that city (Derbe) and had made many disciples and encouraged them to continue in the faith, saying, ” It is through many persecutions that we must enter the kingdom of God” (Acts 14:21-22, NRSV).

And let us consider how to provoke one another to love and good deeds, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day approaching ( Hebrews 10:24-25, NRSV).

Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight and the sin that clings so closely, and let us run with perseverance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus the pioneer and perfecter of our faith, who for the sake of the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, disregarding its shame, and has taken His seat at the right hand of the throne of God (Hebrews 12:1-2, NRSV).

For this very reason, you must make every effort to support your faith with goodness, and goodness with knowledge, and knowledge with self-control, and self-control with endurance, and endurance with godliness, and godliness with mutual affection (phileo) and with mutual affection with love (agape). For if these things are yours and are increasing among you, they keep you from being ineffective and unfruitful in the knowledge of our LORD JESUS CHRIST…… Therefore brothers and sisters, be all the more eager to confirm your call and election for if you do this, you will never stumble. For in this way, entry into the eternal kingdom of our LORD and SAVIOR JESUS CHRIST will be richly provided for you (2nd Peter 1:5-8, 10-11, NRSV).

As we enter into unprecedented times, Christians must bond together as the Eagles have done and we must live our lives in faith, walking in love while seeking GOD’S TRUTH. By the time this weekend approached, I knew the Eagles were going to win. In the next post, I will share why I felt that way and how by discerning clues and times, I believed my premise. Then I will show you a prophesy from Zechariah that has end times ramifications and how knowing it will help us understand and prepare for what must come. EJ.

February 9th,                  24 Shevat

Before the Super Bowl was played last Sunday, signs were lining up that indicated that this would be the time for the first ever Super Bowl Championship in Philadelphia history. Super Bowl LII was played on February 5th, the same day that one of the most popular Eagles was born. Jerome Brown was a great defensive tackle who died tragically in 1992. The mantra of the 1992 season was: “Bring one home for Jerome”. Twenty-six years later, Eagle’s fans were proclaiming this hope once again. For me, that was a good omen. Then another event happened over Super Bowl weekend. All-time Eagle great, Brian Dawkins was elected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame, along with Terrell Owens. Both hall of famers played for the Eagles back in the 2005 Super Bowl (XXXIX) against the same New England Patriots. I really knew that the stars we aligned so to speak. Then Jesus’ Words echoed in my soul.

“From the fig tree learn this lesson: as soon as its branch becomes tender and puts forth its leaves, you know that summer ins near. So also, when you see all these things, you know that He is near at the very gates. Truly I tell you, this generation will not pass away until all these things have taken place. Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away” ( Matthew 24:32-35, NRSV).

The message of Jesus is clear! There are Heavenly signs and clues from God’s WORD that will guide us into knowing what will happen at the end of this age. A major clue is given to the prophet Zechariah. The prophet was given a vision on the 24th of the 11th month (Shevat) of the Hebrew religious calendar (which is today). Zechariah saw a man riding on the red horse and he was standing among the myrtle trees. Other horses were behind the rider.

The prophet inquired about the meaning of this. The angel of THE LORD said that these men were sent to patrol the earth and found the earth at peace. The year was 520 BC and the Persian Empire was in control of the land of Judah and the area of Babylon. The Persians were not as violent as the past empires of Assyria and Babylon were (cf : Zechariah 1:7-11). This rider appears again and when we compare the Scripture, it gets really interesting.

Now the other place the rider on the red horse appears is in Revelation 6:4 and there he is given the power to take peace from the earth. This is a clue to events in the future. When world war appears, the 2nd Seal of Revelation will have been opened. The seals are conditions that must be met before what is written on the scroll takes place. So the idea is that sometime in early February of a future year, the 2nd seal will be opened. In the next post, I will show how this relates to the final 7 year period know as the 70th Week of Daniel. EJ

March 3rd, 2018                 The 2nd Seal of Revelation

In the last post we saw how the rider on the red horse, surveyed the earth during the time of the reign of the Media/Persian Empire. The earth was at rest. Yet this same mysterious figure will appear again in the future. His purpose will be to take peace from the earth.

When He (the LAMB) opened he second seal, I heard the second living creature call out, ” Come!” And out came another horse, bright red; its rides was permitted to take peace from the earth (Rev. 6:4, NRSV).

The purpose of the seals are that they are conditions that must be met on the earth before the contents of the scroll will be unleashed on the world. The date that the prophet Zechariah is given the vision, 24th day of the 11th month (Shevat), is significant. I believe this is the date that peace will be taken from the earth during the final 7 years of this age (70th week of Daniel).

I believe this because when dates on the Hebrew calendar are mentioned with regards to vision and prophecy, they are clues for us to be aware that future events will happen within that time frame. February 9th, 2018 was the 24th of Shevat.  On Saturday, February 10th, Israel was drawn deeper and more directly into the war in Syria.

Before dawn on the 10th, (Jerusalem time, the 9th our time), Israel intercepted an Iranian drone that entered its airspace from Syria. Israel then attacked the command and control center at a Syrian base where the attack was launched. Israel lost an F-16 fighter jet after enduring heavy fire from Syrian anti-aircraft weapons. This was believed to be the first plane Israel lost by enemy attack since 1982. The result was a series of Israeli attacks against a dozen Syrian and Iranian targets within Syria.

The timing is no coincidence. Israel was brought directly into the line of fire on the 24th and 25th of Shevat. War escalated during the time frame presented to Zechariah. This is a clue to show us that when we enter the final years, peace will be taken from the earth during this season. The month of Shevat means rebirth. Ironically, there must be death to have new life. The more we break down prophecy, there clearer future events will become to us. We must turn from our sins and be led by the Holy Spirit and I promise you God will use us in incredible ways. EJ
