The woman was dressed in purple and scarlet, and was glittering with gold, precious stones and pearls. She held a golden cup in her hand, filled with abominable things and the filth of her adulteries. This title was written on her forehead, MYSTERY -BABYLON THE GREAT -THE MOTHER OF PROSTITUTES -AND OF THE ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH. (Revelation 17:4-5 NIV)

It is fair to label my concerns about robots as extreme, since I have virtually ignored their benefits. I realize there are positive applications; but, the risk outweighs the reward. I have focused on cyborgs that are built to destroy or to serve as glorified prostitutes. I’ve attempted to alert saints to the relationship that robots have to the prophesied work of Satan.  If that makes me a nut, so be it.

Question: Biblically, must the beast be male? We know “he” is by the pronoun, but could the beast also be a woman? Brothers and sisters, I introduce to you Satan in female form, “she” is dressed in scarlet and purple, glittering with gold. She is the evil counterpart of the woman with twelve stars for a crown, in Revelation 12, the Mother of God’s Son and of the saints, that is the house of Jacob, which includes Israel’s sons and Zion’s daughters  (Revelation 12:17, 14:12).

The angel, in Revelation 17, unveiled the woman responsible for earth’s mad dash to destruction (ref. Revelation 16). She is the great prostitute (17:1). “With her the kings of the earth committed adultery and the inhabitants of the earth were intoxicated with the wine of her adulteries. (17:2)

The wine of her adulteries may be a preview of a potion so powerful that it creates instant addiction while serving as a potent aphrodisiac. Might this recipe be unique to the sexbot of the future? Indeed, the devil will wait to serve up the “best” wine at the end (John 2:10

Adultery is highlighted in the Revelation 17 text above, but what does it mean? Dictionary On-Line defines “adultery” as “voluntary sexual intercourse between a married person and someone other than his or her lawful spouse.”

Our “no fear of God,” sex-obsessed culture is ripe for sexbots, or robots used for adulterous purposes? Some will argue robots are not persons—but distinctions between humanoids and people are being blurred (see Part 8, “citizenship” and “legal rights”). So, which is it? Do bots have the rights of humans or not? We cannot have it both ways.

Sex outside of God’s bounds may be acceptable to rebels, yet, it is still sin against God. Even more of an affront, the Lord refers to some sex practices as detestable or an abomination (Leviticus 18:22). Abominations are beyond the pale, and, as such, lead to death (Romans 1:24-32). Do the terms relate to the great prostitute and her consorts? They certainly do! What is in her cup in Revelation 17? What is her title? She is the mother of the abominations of the earth.

The woman is mother to all abominations, as well as to all prostitutes. A prostitute generally exchanges sex acts for a payment. In the last days, fools will think they are receiving free sex, but the prostitute’s reward will be the eternal damnation of human souls, or the blood of saints (Revelation 17:6).

Regarding the woman herself committing adultery with the kings of the earth, is that do-able? No, she does not have omnipresence, so she could not be a solo act. May I be frank? Kings won’t have what another king has cast off. We must look for a different understanding of 17:2, one that assumes that currently, we are in the last days.

Scattered among the nations, what if the kings of the earth commit adultery with the prostitute through her surrogates? What if it is accomplished through her multitude of “daughters.” From Revelation 13:15, we see how the great prostitute will reproduce her image (icon) thousands of times over, just as the beast’s replicas are produced.

Regarding 13:15, if the great prostitute breathes (exhales her spirit) on her indestructible likenesses, and they come to life with her seductive, murderess, deceitful and totally evil personality, then what will follow will be great distress for the saints. Greater than in the days before the Flood, unleashed will be a threat to humanity’s existence in a totally unprecedented way (Matthew 24:21-22).  Jesus told us ahead of time (Matthew 24:25).

We will wrap this up the next time. In Part 11, we will offer more Scriptural support for the role of images during the time of Satan’s wrath, preceding Christ’s return.

As the Father has sent me, I am sending you.” And with that he breathed on them and said, “Receive the Holy Spirit.” (John 20:21b-22a NIV)

Elon Musk, the South African CEO of Tesla and multi-billionaire businessman, investor and inventor, was recently quoted in a headline: “Musk warns we only have a 5-10% chance of preventing killer robots from destroying humanity.” “Without regulations,” he stated, A.I. (Artificial Intelligence) presents a “fundamental risk to the future existence of civilization.” We have been hearing robots were a good thing. What’s changed?

Stuart Russell, professor at the University of California, and leading expert in A.I., sounded the same alarm. A November 21, 2017 news story quoted Russell as saying: “Killer robots which use facial recognition before slaughtering people, ‘will be devastating to humankind.’”

Days before Professor Russell’s statement, a warning appeared in the online magazine, Zero Hedge: “Killer robots easier to achieve than self-driving cars.” Killer robots! Easier than cars without drivers? Better buckle up!

Armies of Cyborgs are not relegated to fictional novels, DC Comics or sci-fi films, they are in the testing stage, and soon in the implementation stage. The U.S. military has successfully tested a robot that carries 180 pounds up nine flights of stairs, considerably outperforming the most fit soldiers. That’s only one example.

Killer robots programmed to destroy without requiring specific commands: Think about it. What if a robot stood nine feet tall (2.9 meters), could outrun a deer, do somersaults and jump high hurdles, plus turn a person to powder in a flash? What would we have? We have the new face of warfare.

The scenario described in Revelation 13 provides a picture of the future, not unlike what we cited above: “He [the False Prophet] was given power to give breath to the image of the first beast, so that it could speak and cause all who refused to worship the image to be killed.” (Revelation 13:15 NIV)

Regarding the above Revelation 13 passage, “Could the first beast’s image potentially be a cyborg?” Yes! Giving breath to the image so that it could speak and cause all who refused to worship the beast’s image to be killed is not a crazy, weird or remote idea—not any more. Minds bent on power have already conceived it. Technicians tirelessly work to achieve it. When it happens…buckle up!

Missing in the killer robots, until near the very end, is what the NIV renders “breath.” In Revelation 13:15, the Greek word is pneuma, which is usually translated “spirit.” If we substitute the more common “spirit” for “breath,” as in “the spirit of the beast,” we may have solved a mystery. Paraphrased, Revelation 13:15 could read this way: The false prophet will breathe the “’I am a god’ spirit of the beast into the image(s).”  Of course, we could be describing cyborgs that look like the beast’s twin. They could talk like him, have an IQ in the 2000 range, and possess the beast’s deceitful, diabolical personality. Along with other superior abilities, we have the beast’s image—spirit and all—proliferating the earth. As a finishing touch, the image has authority to command worship, or die.

In Part 6, we will expose more of Satan’s end-time plan to overthrow God’s rule, creating counterfeit beings with the ability to destroy, a plan that dates back to the time of Noah.
